This is not going to be well integrated. They have no control over the cars hardware, this is just a sidejob for the time being.
Here I think you dropped this -> /sCarPlay should be Apple's top #1 priority in 2023.
not really straight forward, it just says the first vehicles to support them will be “announced“ late 2023 not that only late 2023 cars will support this feature.Yes actually.
"Apple says the first vehicles to support the new system will be announced in late 2023 (yes, late next year), although it has already confirmed a long list of partner brands, including Ford, Lincoln, Mercedes-Benz, Infiniti, Honda, Acura, Jaguar, Land Rover, Audi, Nissan, Renault, Volvo, Polestar and Porsche."
Seems pretty straight forward.
isn't that kinda what makes them average and not first adopters? 🤷🏻♂️...or simply don't want to pay for.
Honestly, that’s perfectly fine by me — don’t know what it is, but I can’t imagine an Apple Car that I would want to buy…The Apple Car ... is just something they Play with. It not real.

Awesome!
Too bad it will only be supported on 2023+ cars![]()

Isn't that what is being promised? For example, according to the article, you'll be able to adjust climate control settings. How well this will work in practice remains to be seen, though. I have wireless CarPlay in my BMW, and it doesn't even connect consistently. This is not going to be well integrated. QNX is the integration layer. Cars, elevators, other stuff.Isn't that what is being promised? For example, according to the article, you'll be able to adjust climate control settings. This is why the Genesis G90 doesn’t have it.I would settle with car manufacturers tweaking their design to minimize outside interference with Wireless CarPlay and connect quicker. There are some locations where CarPlay always disconnects and it happens with a couple different car makers. It could be an iPhone thing too, but I think is more on the car side.
you realize three of the brands mentioned here manufacture six of the top ten cars sold in the U.S., right?Haha. All the brands of vehicles that no one buys anymore. Strange.
Used by Apple, you mean?It would be fine with me too except it seems like a big distraction in many ways.
I see more Audi, Honda, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche cars -- new and old -- than any other manufactures besides maybe Hyundai and BMWHaha. All the brands of vehicles that no one buys anymore. Strange.
No one buys Hondas or Fords? Really?Haha. All the brands of vehicles that no one buys anymore. Strange.
I guess i don't get your point. Yes, all those categories (and more) exist. Well, maybe except for the last one. If someone has money and is homeless, CarPlay is the least of their worries. My response was to the comment about an early adopter who "simply won't pay for" the latest features, etc. By definition that is how you differentiate between the "average" consumer and an "early adopter". The early adopters are willing to pay for it because it does interest them. You are confusing "average" as ones who have the means vs the ones who don't. In this scenario, the only ones who matter, all have the "means" so #3 and #4 are irrelevantThey are one of the levels within the ones with the money
1. Deep Pockets who get everything the want because they have the money
2. Deep Pockets who are still discretionary and won't buy stuff not worth it to them
3. Average who don't physically have the money
4. Average who technically have the money but didn't pay any more important bills so are homeless or without a car etc
