That was easy. I have the 11 Pro Max that was on the upgrade program through Citizens Bank. Since then i got the Apple Card. Just made the last payment on the 11 Pro Max that will be going to the wife and the new 13 Pro Max 1TB will be my new phone paid monthly on my Apple Card.

Does anyone know how easy it is to adjust storage capacity Friday morning after already getting pre-approved?

I checked my storage usage on my 512gb model and Settings showed I had used less than half, so I bumped down to the 256gb model. After I finished all that and got approved, I went back to settings and it had updated to being nearly full 🤦🏻‍♂️

I see it says:

Just curious if anyone remembers from last year how easy a change that is or if I’ll lose 5 minutes redoing it Friday morning.
You can change it right now

Having trouble with the Preorder. Getting error message that says “something went wrong whole we were checking you eligibility, please try again”. Anyone else get this message or know what it means? I called Apple, spent an hour on hold, and was finally told that I would have to go to a store to have this looked at. Seems bogus.

I never do preorders anymore, always get like a late delivery date even if I preorder right when they open, then end up always finding stock on launch day at one of like the 10 Apple stores nearby.

Noticed that as well. Could be huge news for us Verizon customers who get slapped with SIM card activation fees every year.
I noticed when I set my pre-order up that it said there would be a $35 activation fee on my Verizon bill…even though it is eSIM. Such a BS fee. It’s one reason I only upgrade every 3 or 4 years, just because that fee pisses me off.

Not sure why after all this time, they don't give upgrade members the ability to just pre-order it now. There can't be THAT many of us that it would mess with anything, and it would lighten the load a little on Friday.

I always just put my old sim in the new phone. I don’t pay close enough attention to see what my carrier charges for that.

What credit bureau does Citizens One use for the IUP? My credit reports are all frozen so mine isn’t going through.
I’m pretty sure it’s Equifax. I forgot to unfreeze my credit before preapproval and got an email saying I could write or call Equifax. Unfroze my credit (from all three agencies just in case) and resubmitted and got approved.

Yeah, the "activation" fee is BS, no doubt. But...$35? That's like, one less dining out, once a year.

anyone else get this message when setting up the pre-pre order? - "you can upgrade to the tastes iPhone by paying off the remaining balance of your first 12 monthly payments..." my payments are on the 22nd of each month - so my 12th payment will be made next week - but we have to pre order this week... how is apple going to handle this?
Yes, I’m also facing this. I have to pay off my remaining balance of $57 in order to pre-order. Since the iPhone launch was in October last year, this seems unfair on the surface. Like you, I’m curious as to whether they’ve already accounted for this and we can pre-order anyway, or if we have to wait to avoid having a balance.

Can't you just log in or something and pay it off manually?

Interesting - if you choose a carrier, it will be activated by eSIM, not a SIM card.

Don’t the Verizon phones support different 4G bands vs the AT&T? How does Apple know which to sell you if you don’t choose a carrier? I’m confused on this point.

They all have the same bands in the phones now. The hardware is all the same.

I figured this would be the case. What’s strange is that if you do the “compare” tool, Apple says that the 13 Pro has “CDMA EV-DO Rev.A (some models).” That’s what it says for all the older phones. Maybe it’s a typo?

Sure, but then I’d effectively be paying twice for one month, no?
I too wish they’d just give a bonus to us that are extra loyal, but our agreement is to pay for 12 months worth before trading in - which is why you’d be “paying twice”
Being in the same boat, I chatted with apple tonight about how that final payment works - if I have to do it with citizen one before hand or if I can just pay when I preorder. Here was the response

Typically after I do the pre selection I see the order when I open the Apple Store app so on pre order morning it’s right there for me to click. I got the email confirming but I do not see the banner at the top that normally says all set for pre order which is where I’d click on ore order day

Has anyone successfully completed the pre order if purchasing monthly through AT&T. The option is greyed out, I can't complete my pre order. Is it just me?

I’m still getting the error “something went wrong checking your eligibility…”. Anyone seeing this?

Yeah, but it's only $57 extra, on a device that costs $1000 or whatever model you're getting. Seems inconsequential.
It’s not about money, it’s about principle. I’ve been a loyal customer in IUP since the program began years ago, and it’s not the customer’s fault the launch occurred later than usual in 2020. It should be credited toward the new plan/agreement.
