I did not know that installing Itunes was a prerequisite for MacRumours.
Come on, Aiden, you're one of the longest-standing members of MR and you've just now realized that undying Apple fanaticism and ownership of every Apple product ever made are prerequisites???

Hey, Arn, how'd this guy get through the prescreening process without having iTunes installed? Heretic!!! :p

Most people I know with a iPad also have a iPod so for those complaining about app size causing them to delete music to make room why not keep your music on the iPod to save space. the new nano will fit in your pocket so no real issue on carting extra stuff around unless your pockets are all ready full of stuff

i guess no more retina-ready updates tonight and my ipad status has not changed either :( not even close to my town and its supposed to be here tomorrow!

man, I submitted an address change the same day I placed the order once i found out I had a last minute business trip, lady confirmed they had submitted request to fed ex, check tracking it's close to being delivered at address I requested not to be sent to, called Apple said they had no record of address change request, complete bull, should have waited til Amazon had them in stock

Yeah...I hear ya...I'm sure fanboys here will reply/scream "but it's not even released yet!!!!" but the fact is that more than 32 apps should be ready to go on Day 1. Out of the tens of thousands of apps (and yes, I know not all NEED to be retina-quality), we have a whopping 32. I was really expecting at LEAST 100 on launch day of iPad 3.0. This seems to be a recurring theme with Apple since Apple was born....release something new/cool/exciting and have almost nothing 3rd party ready to launch with it. :(

It's only a matter of time until more apps are upgraded to take advantage of Apple's new 2048x1536 screen. I'm guessing within a few weeks there will be plenty.

You know damn well iPad developers are racing to get their apps upgraded for Retina.

On the other hand... how many apps are designed to take advantage of the 1280x800 screens on most Android tablets?

They've been out for over a year! Isn't that more cause for concern?

Plenty More

I've had several more apps updated than what's on this list so for the whiners, it's happening, quit poopooing all over it. This is just "a" list, not "the" list.

so much for getting facebook retina display support on launch day :( i guess you cant trust CNET fully.

Yeah, because the android app store and the rim store had hundreds of apps for their tablets.

I can't imagine buying anything less than the 64GB model...... 16GB is a joke, and for $100 more, you double the storage to 32GB. Another $100 doubles it again.

When you think of the time you'll use the device, it makes no sense to cheap out at the beginning..... you'll just end up regretting it later. This is especially true with the bigger retina optimized apps.

Apple picked 32 to showcase. Hundreds, many hundreds, have been updated already. Ours were all updated BEFORE the hardware shipped...

Oh dear........

All you people complaining about lack of apps.... You don't know you are born!

You should have tried living with nothing but a BlackBerry for the past year!

Now THAT has bugger-all apps, and the ones it does have are awful. And don't get me started on the connection issues either! :D

Can't wait for my iPad to arrive- it's my first Apple product! :D :D :D :D :D

I wonder how many games will actually take advantage of the new resolution with new assets etc. I'd imagine that most will just be upscaling.

First, you call everyone complaining about your post a "fanboy", so you insult everyone disagreeing with you. If that despicable tactics hadn't been seen time and time again, it might have worked, but it doesn't.

Second, you put up a straw man. That's a well-known logical fallacy, usually employed to convince less clever people that you actually have an argument when you haven't. Nobody screams "but it's not even released yet". What people are saying is that you are either less than clever, or deliberately trying to mislead people, because the number of applications explicitly enhanced for the new iPad isn't 32. That's just the number of apps highlighted by Apple. The actual number is a lot higher. What you are also not saying is that most applications will benefit without releasing any new version at all, because all text, all Apple-provided user interface elements, all vector drawing, all bitmap graphics that has been scaled down, will improve automatically without any work by the developer.

Their beef with Apple is a secret? I thought both said have been pretty obvious with their disdain for the other.

Yea true. Btw, thanks to you I learnt a new word today: disdain :)

It is very clear that you have a few holes in understanding how things work.
I would be glad to help you, if you list all YOUR accomplishments and product developments that you have for sale.
I am also sure they are all perfect!

If you don't have anything you sell, may I suggest you get a few books about how industries work, especially how 3rd party add ons get integrated and who is in charge of developers?

Certainly whatever you do is always available immediately.
So, please post your product catalog, so we can order now and make sure there are enough of them.

You did create a lot of things, right?

It would also be helpful if you listed YOUR expectations for every product out there and if YOUR expectations aren't met as desired, I think organizing a million consumer march to Washington may get the desired results.

On the other hand, your comedy isn't up to MY expectations.

32 Apps have been featured by Apple. There are hundreds with Retina ready graphics out already: http://appshopper.com/ipad/

Please inform yourself the next time before starting your juvenile schoolgirl rant.

I think there might still only be 32 apps optimized for the "other" OS tablets :D
