Will they issue a recall at some point and have a potential hardware fix??

Still waiting to hear back from them.
I’m expecting a call tomorrow end of day eastern time.
Will follow up here once I’ve spoken to them.

I was hoping for a software update today. Last weekend, I was told by Apple that the next update or the one after would resolve the issue. They also said, they were "sending a gift" for my troubles. Whatever that means...
Interesting... keep us posted on that "gift."

Curious to hear if you talked to them yet?

I have not no.
They didn’t call me today.
If I don’t hear from them by 3pm I’ll be contacting them myself.
Will post details as I get them

So we still have no idea when this 'update' will come to fix the issue?

Knowing Apple, they'll play it down as much as they can

12.1.2 Developer Beta is out ...

Modem firmware got bumped up ... so maybe there is hope.

Yeah I saw that yesterday. Modem firmware got updated, but Verizon carrier firmware did not. Was waiting for the public beta to give it a try looks like it just got released now

A lot of the modem firmware and carrier profiles got rolled back with the 12.1.2 Beta 1 with only the XS/XR modems getting updated.

This leads me to believe (hope anyway) they found the "issue" and discovered that the modem code introduced for the other phones was not needed.

AT&T carrier got downgraded from 35.00 to 34.5.2 with beta 1 on my XS.
Signal is a bit better at home, but I’ll see how it is when I get to work. That’s where I’ve had the most issues.

As I said I’ve been in contact with very high ups at Apple and it most likely is a hardware issue.
Clearly this being a public forum you have a multitude of people saying whatever they want

So what is this important insider information about hardware issues? Where did you go? Or are you just another of the “multitude of people saying whatever they want”?

I have a Genuis Bar appointment tomorrow for them to look at my Xs Max.

This phone has been a POS compared to my X. Dropping WiFi, poor LTE reception, etc. I’ve been in contact with Apple support the past few months and they finally told me to come in.

They did admit there have been issues and their engineers are working on a fix. They also said the software updates should remedy the problem but it never did.

Hopefully if I get replacement it will be better than this one. Never once have I been disappointed with my new iPhones until this one.

Anyone having connectivity ( LTE ) issues with TMobile ? Occasionally, opening a webpage or even logging into an App takes a while, or just hangs.

Also, on WiFi, while the speedtest shows downstream/upstream speeds very similar to other devices, sometimes webpages take forever to open.

I will be calling Apple about this, just wondering if any other TMobile users are facing a similar issue.

I’m getting dropped calls with my iPhone XS Max in areas my iPhone X would not (using T-Mobile). I have a feeling it’s when it’s switching to a different tower. After the dropped call, I have to manually turn cellular off/on and get a signal again. I always warn the person I’m talking with that my call will drop and call them back in a moment. Yeah, it’s frustrating!

I don’t know where I read this or who said it but I read that the issues is both hardware and software related. It does have to do with the Intel modem and the software it uses to grab a signal. When they use Qualcomm’s patented software settings the Intel modem works just as well as Qualcomm’s modems. When using Intel and Apple’s software settings we have the problems we are having.
No idea if this was valid but I found it interesting especially considering some iPhones last year used Intel modems and didn’t have this problem.

While I haven’t had any dropped calls t his issue should be put to bed already.

I and many others have had issues. A couple times a week I need to toggle airplane mode on/off to get downloads/uploads connections working on data and/or WiFi. Maybe it’s your location/carrier helping you.

I am not having any wifi issues either. It's funny that lte and wifi issues seems to go hand in hand. People either have both or none.
