Well, I am a high-school student, and use macs all the time, so I was rather serious, because I feel that the OS X feels a lot better than Windows. Second, thanks for your kindness, jerk.

Why is it that there is always newbs arguing over switching? When the new MacBooks come out, your going to buy it right away and act like you never even said that. This is the internet, don't take things so personally. Good luck with what ever you choose, and don't let one bad apple get you down (no pun intended).

3 important questions bc i haven't been home all day:

1) how reliable is APPLEINSIDER compared to THINKSECRET?

2) What is the "apple evet for wednesday" to talk about laptops?

3) so some "analysts" claim that the intel ibook will not be out tomorrow in accordance to rumors circulating that it will be out tomorrow & APPLEINSIDER followed up by saying they think intel ibook will not be released tomorrow?

hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!! Look at you sheep! Get all excited and now your hopes are striped from you! All on a rumor site! ahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!

i think AppleInsider posts some junk, what is this post all about

http://www.appleinsider.com/article.php?id=1727

what was the mac mini suppose to sell just a little bit and wow astonishing people are actually buying it? wtf is this bs

appleinsider knows nothing

AppleInsider is merely posting the contents of a report from an analyst. They're the guys who model companies' financial performance and together they have a good bit of influence on companies' stock performance. The UBS analyst is seeing stronger sales of the Mac mini than they had been modeling. It says nothing about them expecting "to sell just a little bit." It's just saying they appear to selling better than expected.

with "solid" demand for not only the company's iMac and MacBook Pro offerings but also the Mac mini,

the'yre acting like they didnt expect the mini to have a "solid demand" thats what im saying dude

basically i dont know why this thread even exists bc from Apple's website

"- What you will Learn
Specifications and features of the new iBook."

Check this out.

Just got an email from Apple about WWDC 2006 and in the title, there's a guy using a widescreen white laptop!

Looks like an MBP to me...

I'm not so quick to dismiss it myself. I see what you mean about it looking kinda silvery, but then again...... I cant really be sure.

What I can see is that the corners of the two laptops are very close together, so even though they are at different angles, the height of the screen on the "MBP" appears substantially lower than the ibook, but does not appear to be wider, which are not the dimensions of the MBP. If it were a 12" Powerbook, it would not appear widescreen, If it were a MacBook it would be the same height+wider than the ibook.....
It does look silvery, but it just doesn't seem to "fit" with any PB or MBP released to date........ unless thats some new 17" iBook!! OR a 13.3" widescreen Macbook!!!

Could be a 14" iBook too.

The fact that the 15.4" PB and MBP are the same height as the 14" ibook, and slightly wider too, would tell us that this could not be a MacBook next to a 14" iBook either. If thats a 14 incher, which is what I think It looks like, that cant possibly be a MacBook/Powerbook....... so what is it?

Price of iBook/MacBook

The biggest disapointment to me is the rumour of the small price increase. This would explain why Apple has not lowered the price on its existing iBooks - it didn't want to have to raise them again. I can't speak for other countries but here in Canada the 14" iBook sells for C $ 1649. While one can pick up a 14" brightscreen centrino-based laptop with lots on it for about C $ 769 - less than half the price of an iBook.

I understand that the new iBooks will likely be faster and better equipped than the old ones, but Apple seems to be pricing their laptops to ensure they will never be more than a 4-5% market share. Apple seems to be oblivious to the fact that computer prices are falling not rising.

And that worries me.

Well, I'm still gonna get up tomorrow and check Apple's website at 7AM CT to see if it is down. I have a hunch each of you will be doing the same ... ;)
well it wont be on the apple site until after its announced at E3 (assuming they announce it there) so I doubt it would be online at 7AM....

A black, satin finish, 13" MacBook with Backlit keyboard...

would rock. If they keep the internals in league with the Pro models like offering a beefy graphics chip that is not integrated; I know I would be willing to spend $1500 on one.

OK...I'm in Canada as well. I have only looked in passing (at PEECEES),, because I am so bent on getting this "macbook"..but I need something by months end..because I will be on the road all summer..man all I can do is hope that apple will release this baby in time (for me anyway)..but you have me thinking.

PLUS
if they raise the price in Canada, They are ripping us off blind..WHY? becaue out dollar is way stronger than it has been in years,...almost more than 10 cents up (from the U.S. dollar)from last year at this point....Don;t rip us off. the ibook is soooo over priced right now....

i think it's the 12" PB...the WWDC main page has another picture of a bunch of developers in session...and i think that pic in the email (i got it, too) is a candid of developers from a recent developers workshop...now, if it were black, we'd be onto something...

macbooks will not come today, i know this for sure! they will be announced 19th though, gotta friend who works at apple :)

Im in the same boat. If apple doesnt come out with something I'm eather gona have to buy something like a thinkpad or dell otherwise I will be forced to be computerless for a couple of months  If i were to give up and buy a pc i would probably go towards the thinkpad because i believe linux can be installed without to much trouble vs the dell which uses a bunch of windows only hardware.
