How could anyone rate this as a negative? (especially so overwhelmingly)

The rumors say that the new MacBooks will be available in Black.....as well as the usual White. That is big news. I know there were rumors that black might be available...but if there is reliable info that it really might happen....that's definitely a positive.

And news that they could be thinner? That's another BIG positive. I know all the products tend to get smaller with time...but the iBooks haven't gotten much thinner in a while. That's one big reason why I have been drawn to the Powerbook over the iBook in the past.

These two bits of news definitely add up to a huge positive for me.

So why would this news get ten times as many negatives as positives? Could the reason be the one extra week wait? You guys better get your priorities straight. You can go out and get a Windows PC now without a wait.....but it's a piece of crap!

Yes I really NEED(!!!) my MacBook. Im just awaiting payment on my iBook then I have to ship it out:eek:, Im going to be Macless for maybe 2 weeks!!!  :( :D  (The faces of Mac withdraw)

one more week... one more week... one more week... one more week...
one more week... one more week... one more week... one more week...
one more week... one more week... one more week... one more week...
one more week... one more week... one more week... one more week...
one more week... one more week... one more week... one more week...
one more week... one more week... one more week.............. WHY DONT YOU ALL JUST GIVE UP?

My prediction:
the low end model will have the same specs as the low end mini.
the high end model will have the same specs as the high end mini.

it will look as differrant from the iBook as the MBP does from its PowerBook G4 predecesors.

Ashamed...

I am really dissapointed that Apple has not already released this product...

I was tempted to "switch" or I guess now "get a mac" but after seeing that Apple is pushing sales of ibooks and having events that promote products that will be outdated in less than a month really makes me feel ashamed for Apple. They should sell those models under the discount store, to those who understand what is going on... but actually PUSHING them on people is criminal. The other reason why I am getting a HP is because the fact that Apple has taken too long to release this product. I am now about to purchase (tommorow just to make sure :p) a 17 inch core duo laptop for less than 1300, with shipping. The prices aren't close, and the companies are very different, considering that HP warns people as soon as they can when a product replacement is near. Last, I am a life long windows user and prefer windows over OS X... well until the next "computer upgrade" bye-bye Apple rumor sites, it's been FRUSTRATING!

Edit:
I can completely forgot, CNET also had a head-to-head thing with an acer laptop and a macbook pro, the acer won

even though they are more than 50% completed with the transition that originally wasn't suppose to be even started till the middle of this year (i.e. NOW).

I think they are doing great, they are really ahead of schedule.

I guess you were never a serious, or at least likely, customer anyways, so I don't think Apple will miss you.

Well, I am a high-school student, and use macs all the time, so I was rather serious, because I feel that the OS X feels a lot better than Windows. Second, thanks for your kindness, jerk.

Check this out.

Just got an email from Apple about WWDC 2006 and in the title, there's a guy using a widescreen white laptop!

No?

May 22 or 23

I have received Apple coupons that expire May 21. My guess is we won't see any significant product updates until after that date.

Preferring windows to mac? I know some people who can help you kick the addiction to crack.

Looks silver to me. Different lighting angle from the other laptop makes them look different. And the diffused reflection of the light is more reminiscent of a PB/MBP finish than an iBook finish. That said...we don't know just what the finish of the new MacBooks will be.

Check this out. A seminar on Wednesday about the new "iBook". I got the info from engadget. The link is right from apple's website
OMG PPL!!!! Are you kidding!? Please for the last time this is old as dirt. (nothing personal mikepgt2, its just that there have been a LOT of people who have said this in the past couple hours after it has been proven to be worthless).

Breath in. Exhale out. Breath in. Exhale out.
Now, calm down. If you weren't the rumors monger that the rest of us are you would have been totally content and happy. But now, because of the rumors and the misinformation put out by the various sites, you are upset. Remember, Apple has said nothing about anything. Hell, the MacBooks might not be out until September. So, Apple may not, in fact, be "pushing" old iBooks as much as just selling what they got. Oh, and by the way the info that they were "pushing iBook sales" came from a rumor site that still doesn't now what's in the boxes or when the MacBook is coming out.

Relax. Apple is making the transition slowly and surely. And they probably don't want to repeat the fiasco of whine and heat that has accompanied the MacBook Pro.
Remember it's always better to do it right the first time than to pay for after the fact retrofitting....unless you work in the Defense Industry.

Here we go again

This is the misinformation that never ends...yes it goes on and on my friend. Some people started spreading it not knowing what it was. And now will go on spreading it forever, just because...

as someone of some wisdom on another message board once said:

In here, speculation quickly becomes assumption, and then assumption becomes fact, and reveals itself as disappointment when what everyone forgets began as speculation turns out to be false.

Words to remember.

wow this is so stupid

maybe its just a rumor and it will be out tomorrow.

rumors, rumors, rumors.

apple sux

your mad at Apple for something that someone completely unrelated to Apple did. Its a rumor site, believe me, I learned the hard way.. when April 1st came and went with nothing... I was so disappointed, and mad and ready to buy a Vaoi. But everything I have read says to stick with Apple.... and ACer? and CNET? I wouldn't trust them.

And apple is first and for most a business... and thats not true about HP. When we get new models in our store the old ones always end up with rebates... they push there old stock too.

And I don't know that the Ibooks will be "outdated" thats the thing with Macs, they last so long and work so well.. that its not outdated until years down the road.
