I mean it gets permanently scratched by daily use.in no time.it's just not fit for propose.

You haven't been paying attention to Apple for the last 20 years then. The Wallstreet Powerbook G3 had a rubber coating that wore off if you touched it too much or put it in a bag. The Titanium Powerbooks all had thin paint that flaked off or scratched if you so much as looked at it the wrong way. Every iPod with a stainless steel back (and some plastic fronts) would scratch as soon as you touched it. Apple is notorious for making beautiful things that only stay beautiful as long as they aren't used.

I would go for that colour, maybe next year?

I'm assuming "jet" in this sense means "extreme". So "extreme white" or "extreme black".
Everyone knows this. They are just being extra. They know they will want one. I know I'd drop a grand in a second if Apple released a Jet White iPhone.

Because it's a smaller, more rigid structire than the large slim form-factor of the iPhone.
The same way a dinner plate is easier to break than a salt shaker. </analogy>
My cookware is ceramic and my stove range is ceramic. Hasn't broken yet. You are fundamentally misunderstanding the hardness of ceramic. But like the user said above, it's a very common misconception typically caused by China dinner plates.

There was nothing sarcastic about the comment he was replying to.

Not before we get Jet Black watch bands!

Take this, Sammy! This proves the "billions of US$" Apple spent on R&D were worth it after all!

Rainbow colored dongles next... ;)

I much prefer colors over ports. This is awesome! (just like I like colors and dongles over RAM and ports on my MBP!)

I'm holding out for ceramic.
No you're not.
[doublepost=1478536393][/doublepost]Jet Black is without a doubt the nicest look and feel of any iPhone, ever. Jet White would certainly make some people very happy. Not for me, I love the JB, but if anyone wants a "white" iPhone, a version that follows the lead of JB is the best way to go.

Amazing how ignorant some people are. The word "jet" when used with black refers to the gemstone (which is black). If this color is released, it will not use "jet" as an adjective - it makes no sense!

You always have to be extra careful when you call other people ignorant. The dictionary definitions make it clear that the most common use is to indicate an intense black, not the gemstone use, but beyond that, when did companies start adhering to dictionary correct use of colors? I guess Jobs and Wozniak didn't realize how ignorant they were to use an agriculturally impossible rainbow colored Apple as their logo.

so.....another color Apple will be out of stock on?

Wow. Doesn't that constant negative view on everything in life get tiresome? It's never too late to change your outlook; you'll be amazed how much better it feels to have a positive take on most things.

Oh, I'm sorry.... am I speaking with the one netizen unaware of how Poe's Law works??!
Unless you know that guy personally or closely follow his post history, you (like everyone else) have ZERO idea of whether or not his straightforward statement is actually sarcasm.
That is why we have smileys, the term "jk", & the /sarcasm tag.

Since you can't anodise things white, I'd be interested in how this would work.

Unless it's ceramic of course....

Wah?
Should nobody on the planet have 3 bathrooms in their house if you only have 2 1/2? Is it "unfair" if anyone at all has even one thing that you don't?
This disgusting & selfish thinking is the epitome of entitlement and greed.
It makes me sad, angry, & sick... all at the same time.

whoa...settle down Francis

I would actually consider this, I think that it looks really clean and nice. Only concern is dirt, and of course, scratches.

whoa...settle down Francis

I don't know what that means.
But... I actually will continue to be appalled by childish fit throwing & abnormally "spoiled brat" attitudes.
You may choose to embrace them, ignore them, rail against them- whatever you wish. I'm not a fascist, so I'm not going to demand that you feel differently than you do.
I'd appreciate the same respect!

Ceramic is indeed a huge challenge, especially from a manufacturing perspective, but Apple has some top material scientists on board, hence they are using ceramics infused with zirconia and other materials, so I wouldn't rule it out because of its many desirable qualities, such as being near impervious to scratches. Very different than the ceramic you're thinking of in your dinner plates. It's why ceramics can be used for trauma plates in ballistic vests worn by law enforcement and the military who would understandably be concerned about relying on something similar to a dinner plate to stop bullets.

My goodness!

It's like back to the lovely early 2000s look or the underrated iPhone 5C.

Do want :)

There is no such thing as white anodizing, so to create a white iPhone 7, one of two things has to happen:
  1. The body will remain aluminum, but will have some other kind of durable coating, perhaps a ceramic glaze or paint; or
  2. The body will no longer be aluminum, but will be solid ceramic, like the white Apple Watch Edition.
Given that the white Apple Watch is a premium-priced product, I can't see option 2 happening, and option 1 is a bit of a crap-shoot.

Having seen the polished and matte black side-by-side, I cannot understand why anyone would want the glossy one. It's a magnet for greasy fingerprints and scratches. The matte looks way more "stealth".
