You haven't been paying attention to Apple for the last 20 years then. The Wallstreet Powerbook G3 had a rubber coating that wore off if you touched it too much or put it in a bag. The Titanium Powerbooks all had thin paint that flaked off or scratched if you so much as looked at it the wrong way. Every iPod with a stainless steel back (and some plastic fronts) would scratch as soon as you touched it. Apple is notorious for making beautiful things that only stay beautiful as long as they aren't used.
well I haven't used the ones you mentioned so can't comment on them but your last sentence is completely wrong almost any Apple product Ive seen looked beautiful and yet was durable enough,iMacs,Macbook Air/Pro,iPhone 4-6s..etc

I would love a white iphone ONLY if it doesn't have a white bezel. Seriously, why are do all the colored phones have white bezels? The clean black look of the space grey and jet black looks amazing.

Finally! Took Apple long enough to come out with this color! Just like the 4S white color.

Jet White could look awesome just like Jet black but is it flawed and impractical just like Jet black?

I really cannot believe Apple let such flawed color option out.

I mean it gets permanently scratched by daily use.in no time.it's just not fit for propose.

how can they ask people to use a case? what's the point then if the shade have to be covered under a bulky ugly case?
a case should be optional and lack of it should not cause problems in normal circumstances.

why don't Apple just ditch this silly aluminium casing habit and use glass casing over metal just like Samsung S6 (upwards) ? haven't they see how nice those phones look? and no stupid scratch either.

Not sure what you're doing with yours, but I routinely use my Jet Black phone with no case and it still looks pristine. I don't make any special accommodations, either, other than not carrying it in a pocket with hard objects and not setting it on surfaces such as concrete.

I'm glad they're bringing back "Black & White." Honestly, the best colors in the world for tech imo.

I just wish that they would offer the silver aluminum color with a black front. I'm a bit tired of a black/grey iPhone, but I can't stand the white bezels on the other colors.

All the discussion about the name and not the fact that white anodizing is not possible as far as I know. So this would have to be a ceramic edition that costs way more or something. Unless they could get the price down in time but I doubt it. It won't just be painted aluminum as it wouldn't be durable enough. Color looks great though. I would have gotten than instead of my 7+ Jet Black if it was available at the same time.

Seems late and since they didn't announce it previously - hard to see them doing this.

BTW, Apple still doesn't have 7+'s and Series 2 watches in stock here in the U.S. and its November now.

That's because this will be a new color for the 7S series launching next year.

Not true. Jet is normally only used for intense black. Any use before another color is simply wrong. Jet is not a synonym for intense. Jet is a description of a type of black - specifically the intense black of the gemstone jet. Any other use in front of another color is indeed ignorant.

When you are in a hole, stop digging. It's okay to admit you were wrong. First off, as much as you hold your nose up with your "Art Degree," an interesting topic all by itself, I hate to tell you that there is no law that regulates what names people can call colors. I guess you went apoplectic when Apple came up with "Space Gray" when your neighbor with an astronomy degree pointed out that Space is not gray. Or when your friend with a degree in horticulture pointed out that it was incredibly ignorant of Apple to call a phone color "Rose Gold" since everybody knows roses aren't gold.

There are millions of internet entries with the word "jet" in front of another color. Major paint companies, major car manufacturers all have used it in front of a color other than black. Audi used it on their luxury car line for four straight years when they offered it as a color choice for example. Who knew their design staff was so ignorant.

They cant even satisfy demand for the current phone with order times between 3 and 5 weeks. I would be surprised if they introduce a new colour especially if the next gen is released in June to mark the 10th anniversary of the iPhone.
It may be that they hold back this colour as an option for the next gen phone. Just speculation though.

Mmm, new color options.

Talk about rearranging place settings in the dining rooms of the Titanic and ignoring the iceberg.
