I still don’t get why the new iPhone is going to be bigger than the X at 6.1”, even if it is using a cheaper LCD display.

What I’m interested in also is what the nomenclature will be for the 6.1” iPhone. Will it be called the iPhone 8s? iPhone 9? Or maybe like the iPad and just call it iPhone?

Early rumors have said the 6.1 will be microLED and the other two OLED. I guess will learn more as the rumors fly!

I'm still not wanting to give up the touchID.

My iPhone 6s currently does everything I need it to do, the only improvement I want is a better screen that doesn’t dim when it warms up a bit, and better contrast in dark scenes. Oh and yea I don’t want to give up my touchID and the headphone jack, I use it all the time. Bluetooth headphones aren’t there yet, especially when it comes to the mics.

I would like to see Apple price the X2 and X2 Plus at $899, $999 respectively with the base storage at 128GB and top storage tier at 512GB. Makes sense. The 6.1 model will release in 32GB and 128GB model configurations.

It can't be anything less than 10 because the current model number is 10. So a new model should be at least 10.1 or 11 onwards.

Anyone else curious of the origin story of this mysterious Ming-Chi Kuo?

If we knew more about him, we will know less about future Apple products.

He's probably on Apple's Most Wanted list.

I think it comes down to the final footprint of the phone itself. The X is almost the same physical size as the current 4.7" model. A larger X-style phone will probably still be smaller than the Plus, which is just too big for me. Still hoping they have an ace-in-the-hole SE version. I bet they could get the 4.7" display on something similar to the current SE. That would be a very compelling product for me, as my eyes can't handle anything less than the 4.7" display. I bet these form factors have a lot to do with cramming the front facing camera array into the package, along with having a decent sized battery to power the larger display. That might be the killer for making the SE of my wishing.

There are two current models: iPhone 8 and iPhone X, with “X” being a more of a trademarked marketing name rather than a version number, hence why there are rumors and reports that Apple will discontinue the current X and replace it with a new model with the same name (in other words, no Xs, X2, XI, etc.). This is why we don’t have an iPad Pro 2. Apple is moving away from numbers.

I better hurry and buy the SE while I still can. Still has headphone jack, home button, and is the PERFECT size of pocket-size phone. Just bought my wife the 6S coz for her the bigger screen was better. She rejected the 6S Plus as being too big. Never been a fan of the Phablet.

As far as I'm concerned even the "standard" 6/6s/7/8 phones are phablets.

These 6.1 LCD and 6.5 OLED iPhones are abominations. Goes against everything the iPhone X stood for (IMO).
I really do like the 5.8 iPhone X. Will be interested to see what Apple launches but will not be upgrading.

I also wonder if Apple will discontinue the 6 and 7 and just sell the 8 and 8+.

Yea, the SE is the same size as the 5C. I will go no bigger than that. I still use my trusty 4S and love it. I'm just scared that if I don't move on a SE now (small and both headphone jack and home button still there), my options will be gone. 6S came out Sept 2015 and SE Mar 2016...so I am hoping they last another year or so.

I miss the hell out of the headphone jack. I use my headphones for my work laptop for Skype calls and have to carry around two sets in my laptop bag and the dongle (just in case.)

I missed TouchID for about 2 minutes. FaceID is WAY better than I expected. I love the apps that use it and it's made Apple Pay even more convenient. (Which I didn't think was possible.)

I don’t see Apple pricing a 6.1” FaceID iPhone at $550. Who would spend $900 to get a X? OLED isn’t worth paying an extra $350, and it would be a smaller 5.8” screen. Doesn’t really make sense. I don’t see enough differentiation.

At $749 for the LCD model, sure. Pay an extra $150 for OLED and probably a better camera.

Actually the 8 was released before the 10, so technically the lastest in the line is the 10. They couldn't release this year a 9 because what'd happen the year after if there's already a 10? They only way they can get away releasing a 9 would be by making it a phone with the 6 design as "special edition", the lastest iPhone with the 6 design. They cannot release a next generation iPhone (with the X design) in a versión less than 10.

I get the roman X is somehow symbolic but it still represents the number 10.
