Wipe it and set it up as a new device. I still use my iPhone 4 at the gym and it spins along at a nice rate after a fresh install.

I actually did just do that when 8.1.2 came out. Wiped it clean thinking I was going to jailbreak it, but never got around to actually doing the jailbreak. I may JB it with Taig and see if I can find some tweaks to speed it up. I doubt it though; Safari searching AFAIK can't be sped up with JB tweaks. I found myself grabbing my iPhone and putting down my iPod because the latter was slower on which to surf (using the same wifi network).

I just hope they don't mess up the keyboard by putting the Power key on the left where Esc belongs.

Fanless? How am I going to edit 3 streams of 4K HD in real time on site at a film set? Thanks Apple

Not sure your point. The MacBook Air is not their only laptop, but you know that. :)

No iTunes Radio in major markets, such as Canada, although I'm sure that Beats has something to do with that.

iWork castrated and customer feedback ignored.

New Photos app still not released.

Possible ruining of the keyboard layout, based on recent mockups.

... is this slow and steady, or does the marker keep getting moved ahead when the next great things are realized, and the rest (that matters to many of us) is just roadkill?

If they decide to hold it on 24 Feb, it would've been Steve's 60th Birthday. Perhaps a co-incidence?
Happy birthday Steve.

Makes sense for the apple watch, you will need some sort of idea of the demand for certain models given so many styles and 2 sizes.

So seeing they want apps ready by mid February and the employees trained by March, you will probably have all the models in store for people to try with a 4 week time frame to ship them.

You don't want people ordering and doing mass returns because they got the wrong size or style.;)

Depending on the capacity, I've found devices get progressively slower the more full they are. This can be especially a problem with the 16GB versions. If possible it is worth keeping a gig or so spare. My iPhone 4 is only 16GB and when it is nearly full (i.e. only a few hundred MB left) it is impossibly slow, but clear stuff out and it speeds up again.

Apple isn't having a conference on the apple watch with it shipping more then a month later

When apple launched the original iPad I believe the event was in February and the iPad launched in April

Edit:
9to5 Mac says no to event :( thats too bad. I got my hopes up. I guess the event will most likely be in march or early April then perhaps.

Apple Watch
12" MacBook Air
Mac Photos App
What else will be included in this event? Too early for iPad Pro??

Do we think the 13" MacBook Air will get updated along side the introduction of the new MacBook. Keeping the 13" MacBook at the same price point and form factor, but with a broadwell CPU like the i5-5250U with HD 6000?

Also I would like to know what people think the specs and pricing will be on the 12" MacBook Air.
Obviously Core M, I would guess probably one of the ones with the 300Mz GPU clock, but not the Core M vPro?
What resolution of the display? same as the 13" rMBP? 2560x1600? or slightly less. 2732x1536, is double the current 11" Air... seems a little high though.
Colors? I know its rumored to come in space grey and gold, is this a reality? IMO gold will be awesome, I know its a little too flashy for some

Starting at $1,199, 128GB SSD, 4GB Ram, sound about right? I really don't know.

Clearly Apple will want to keep Retina MacBook Air up their sleeve until WWDC after April/May is used for the apple Watch frenzy. June to August will then be rMBA's time. September - Iphone 6s/Ipad Pro/Ipad Air 3 etc. October - updated Macbook Pros. They have an incentive to spread out the product launches through out the year to keep the momentum going.

Is there any indication or rumor that the 13 inch MBA will still be an option but with retina display as well?

We need a new one at work (well, to some degree).
And I'm not too keen to order a MBA now.
At least not without knowing what the trade-offs are.
May turn out that a max'ed out 13" MBP is better at the end.

Yeah I'm in dire need of a new laptop. I'm hoping the current 13 inch will still be available in the new release of the 12 with both variants having adopted a retina display. 12inch although its best for portable more than a 13 inch, the screen is too small for my eyesight.

I am wondering this as well.

I feel there are many people my self included.

that would still want something more powerful than core M, more powerful than intel HD 5300. However, want something thinner than the MBP. or rather thinner than any notebook that has to cool a 28W CPU.

I hope apple updates the current 13" MBA and keeps it. hard to say if the display gets updated. I hope it does

Yeah for sure! That's what I'm hoping for. My mid 2009 MPB reached its end life long ago.

Couple things I would like to see Apple doing this year:

Stand alone TB 5K displays
ATV

They'd love to, I'm sure. But Thunderbolt doesn't yet support it and I'm assuming they're waiting for a less hackish solution than Dell's.

It seems quite strange Apple won't be holding an event for a brand new product, as well as a new and improved MacBook Air. Surely they just aren't going to put the Apple Watch on sale without telling us pricing, availability etc. I think they'll have an event late February.

i'd like events were they talk about something new and interesting.

A different screen size on a tried and true device is not interesting to me.
An update on a watch that we've all seen, isn't that interesting.
