4th Gen iPods will stay $299 and $399 (For what you will get, it will be worth it)
8Gig Model will go away and 32Gig 3rd Gen model will be $199.
or, they will want facetime on all of them and deliver a new 16GB model for $199 and 32 and 64 will follow for $299 and $399.

I'm hoping for iTunes X 64bit, renamed to Apple Marketplace, containing App Store (mobile and desktop), Video Store and Music Store...perhaps a Games Store so they can compete with Steam...mobile and desktop.

The app will store it's library in a new folder in the home directory named Marketplace (it will basically be the iTunes media folder just up a few levels).
You will also be able to store videos and music off site say on a NAS.

iTunes will return to being a music player, QuickTime a movie player, both of which integrate with Apple Marketplace.

This = awesome. At least I think it would be.

Apple TV could be much the same but can sync with Apple Marketplace over network. It has apps, like for example in England it could have BBC iPlayer (lol), 4oD, Five onDemand, LoveFilm, SkyPlayer etc.
It will allow playing of files over network, I.e those stored on a NAS.

And if we are lucky it will natively allow playback of multiple file types like mkv and divx avi.

I like that. The most Apple has done to iTunes visually was just add new gradients on, new highlights and icons and removal of the gel scroll bar.

Anyone remember when itunes had the green music note?

What do you suppose that brown pudding looking image is below the apple logo.......significant?

The Martin D-28's spot is black, but Apple's has some sort of pattern...

Well, it looks in addition of iPod Update, we might get new iLife update too...

Maybe after iMovie, we might get more iLife for iOS... (Looks like GarageBand)
We'll see next week ;)

and how much are you saving after paying for a la carte high speed internet? DSL doesn't count

I did not say I was saving. I can pay but I don't want to pay for crap.

If I save, so much the better.

I have to pay every month for basics, mortgage, electricity, gas, phone. I don't need TV to survive.

Well this is about the new ipod event, so it makes sence to talk about the iPod touch here.

ummm QuickTime X?

Quicktime X is for Mac OS X

"QuickTime X is the next-generation media technology that powers the audio and video experience in Mac OS X Snow Leopard. It includes a completely new QuickTime Player application with a clean, uncluttered design. And it delivers more efficient media playback, HTTP-based live streaming, and greater color accuracy"

If there's a new release of QT for Windows it won't be called Quicktime X.

I reckon that the earliness of the event and the guitar themed invite means we will only see the iPod / iTunes announcements. Apple TV is going to come a month or so later along with MacBook Air or its replacment and an iPad OS4 preview.

How cool would it be if they somehow integrated facetime with a front facing camera on the front of the iTV.

If by "cool" you mean "I'd rather rent out a hotel room on a cold day in hell," sure. I can't see too many people wanting a camera in their living room? The risk of an American Pie moment is just too great. It would certainly stop me from buying an iTV that is for sure.

Some of us remember when it was blue the first time!

And then purple.

Then green.

Then blue again.

I Will Buy An iPod Nano Only If

1) The screen size remains at least the same size
2) The buttons remain (a "touch" device the size of the nano would be a nightmare to try and operate, especially when its in your pocket or when its dark)
3) The capacity is increased to AT LEAST 32GB
4) The headphone jack remains a "standard" jack for ANY headphone (not some proprietary cr@p)

Please don't mess with a good thing.....

There's a persistent Skype demo at the local Best Buy between the Panasonic TV and a notebook on the other side of the store.

You for real? I would love the ability to do FaceTime or Skype video conferencing using my living room TV/speakers. The camera would need to be USB-attached, so those paranoid about "American Pie moments" can disconnect it.

Does anybody know how soon Apple will have the video of the event up on their website after it's over?
