The double standard. No issues when the communists were surpressing legitimate protests in Hong Kong.

News flash apple, your stores will still be looted regardless of what you put on a paying music platform.

and you lost another customer tody on Music, therefore causing said artists you support to lose out on royalties.

So sad that entitled people get so triggered over ONE DAY of many companies expressing support for a shameful reality in society. do all the other holiday closings that are ethnicity focused Trigger also?
I believe the issue was that this campaign today reduced services for which people have paid. However worthy the cause, today is not a holiday and even on official holidays, people who have paid for Apple Music have 100% access to the service and all its features. Just stating the facts.

Great. Political grandstanding based on something happening somewhere else. The world does not revolve around the USA. If my music streaming service is to be interrupted every time something bad happens in America than I may as well cancel it now.

I really find it insulting and inappropriate to block features for paying customers. Regardless of what is going on in the world, people listen to music to relax. Being bombarded with this issue 24/7 is not good for several people's mental health that is already suffering from covid's social distancing.
God forbid we get trivially inconvenienced by all this. Maybe all those pesky protesters can quietly protest from their homes so we don’t have to be annoyed by their yammering. Don’t mind people trying to stimulate national outrage over police officers murdering people as long as we’re not bothered by it, amiright?

I don't have an issue with them supporting this at all, but what I have an issue with is their "For Us, By Us" playlist created by Apple and the last song being **** the Police. Thats where I draw the line. Apple needs to not cross that bridge but apparently they don't care.

Apple has very hypocritical decision making and it is not new. They ban or get rid of certain apps because they are not deemed suitable or some other excuse. They have stopped carrying music by artists who have crossed some line (that offends Tim) but promote other artists who are proven abusers, crooks etc. Tim thinks he is wonderful and saving the world but he is a bit of a joke (many Apple shareholders will disagree but all they care about is the $$$).

And I have not once seen or heard proof from news, family members, friends (EVEN friends of color are stating things differently BTW). I have seen more evidence that whites are killed far more than blacks by police.

And I am honestly sick and tired of the general hatred (yes hatred) of whites. My friends and family members that are on this narrative (who are mostly white BTW) say that I am a privileged white male and should just shut my mouth. Uh, that's racist and sexist BTW.

Lets just all treat each other with respect. All lives matter. All genders/sexes matter. All lifestyles matter.
The evidence is there — I have even shared some with you in this forum — you are choosing to stay ignorant as it seem to fit the narrative you are comfortable with. I'm not slandering you, I'm not disrespecting you, but we have had a bit of back and forth here are you are unwilling to accept information and data that conflicts with your view for no other apparent reason than choice.

Have a good day — I have no need to converse with someone with an unmalleable opinion (not to be confused with a diverging one, I can easily embrace that) — unwilling to have the humility to accept that they lacked critical information. You have stated many things and shown sources for none of it, which leads me to believe you feel this way, even though it's not an informed opinion. I don't hate whites — never even inferred it — police (of all colors), though, have shown time and time again that they are willing to be more heavy-handed with blacks than anyone else. That is all anyone has been talking about. You are making it about white people and it isn't.

Great song — a snapshot of life for a particular demographic — and a relevant statement, even if it's an experience you never had to share. But it is art, so it is subjective. You can skip it if you want to.

What’s with all the “all lives matter” folks? When you see a bumper sticker that says “save the rainforests” do you take it to mean cut down all the other forests? The reason there is so much public outrage over this latest murder of a black man by police is that it’s been an ongoing problem for many years. Because police keep on disproportionately murdering black people, it makes the statement that black lives don’t matter. This movement is simply an effort to correct that. Why would anyone work to undermine a movement to stop murdering black people? It’s not a good look, to say the least.

One day of this on iTunes, won't make a difference.
A full shutdown of tech services, especially ones that hurt politicians and law enforcement - like Facebook or Twitter - would make a difference.

Lots of people on here do not understand the hashtag. It’s to raise awareness of the racial group that is being oppressed. Nobody is saying the other lives didn’t matter but when you use ‘All Lives Matter,‘ you are diminishing the voices of the people who are currently being attacked. Why people can’t understand this is beyond me.
Guess it just shows how selfish [those people] are.

EDIT: Not meant to be a personal attack on the members I quoted. Clarified.

They're being reluctant to open their minds, they're fragile humans who are incapable to learn.

Murder, in this case, has not been established. Willful neglect, or allowing someone to die while rendering no aid seems a no brainer but please, stop saying murder as a way to dramatize your viewpoint.

People of all colors are killed during interactions with law enforcement, IMHO very few were murdered by the legal definition of the word. We should, via constructive means, be working to minimize the numbers of unnecessary deaths.

George Floyd died an unfortunate and unneccesary death but he was most likely not murdered. Only the officer responsible knows for sure if he committed a premeditated killing or if he was just an a**hole who failed to render aid to someone in custody who was experiencing a medical emergency.

I fundamentally disagree. If I want to look for new music and 'open my mind' I will.

What apple have done here is removed my choice, as a paying customer.

I know what genre of music I like, and makes my work day fly by. And thats heavy metal and hard rock. Apple have removed my ability to select a hard rock playlist or radio station.

Agree that it’s a very, and arguably too provocative track title for Apple, Inc. to include. But it’s sad that not much has changed in the 30+ years since events prompted it to be written.

Completely unacceptable. I don't need companies forcing their messages or anyone else's down my throat. Especially when Im paying for a service. I've never liked when they comment on political stuff because it sets precedences. Take a look at the white leadership board of apple. And they are the ones talking about equality.

icanhazmac.....I often agree with you but c'mon, it is difficult to describe having one's knee (and therefore a lot of body weight) on Floyd's neck for 12 minutes as "custody". Was this cop so incapable (and there was possible assistance by his colleagues) that he could not cuff and restrain Floyd in some other manner? I have never been a cop and I appreciate it is not an easy job but there is no excuse for this situation.

100% agree and it was not my intention to minimize the uneccesary method of restraint, I'm not a police officer either but keeping ones knee on the head and neck for that amount of time seems wholly uneccesary. My only point was murder is premeditated and probably not what happened in this case.

The only non-white is Isabel (Asian) and big surprise....she is in charge of Greater China. Nothing against her but the photos tell quite a story.
