!!!!VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!

if you have music downloaded it will not update to lossless and dobly unless you delete and re download it

an easy way to do this if you have a mac is

1. unsync your apple music on your phone or ipad

2. follow the instructions in this video --

3. re sync your library on your phone and download the playlist you made on your mac

all your music will now be downloaded and sounding better

Hey guys so Apple Lossless is both 44.1kHz and 48kHz

Anyone found any 48kHz music? Can you share the album?

I want to see if Apple Music on macOS automatically changes sample rates of my USB DAC

So far I only found 44.1kHz

So far I think the most frustrating thing about spacial audio is how variable the volume per track can be. One song I have to turn up 75% volume or more. The next song I have to turn it down to 50% volume.

Doesn't help that some songs it feels like the band is right in front of you, and some songs sounds like your in a concert hall listening to the band from afar.

I tried it and I will say I’m impressed. I listened to a song in Spotify (paid account), then switched to Apple Music and you can tell a difference. While Spotify sounded “louder” for lack of better term, the same song on Apple Music was just more immersive. Apple Music just felt like the song was coming from all around you compared to Spotify which sounded like it was just in front of you. Hard to describe, it’s not mind blowing, but it definitely is noticeable in a good way.

The Apple Support Article says to turn on Sound Check for that issue.

can someone explain this all to me

what is the feature that only works out of your devices speaker

and what is the feature that works through airpods and beats

and which is one that everyone is hyped about
Spatial audio (Dolby Atmos) works automatically on certain airpods and beats headphones, but I believe can be turned on for any headphones. It simulates surround sound to make the sound stage “bigger” and spread instruments and sounds out.

Lossless audio does not use any lossy compression that can reduce sound quality. So just higher quality audio. This currently requires wired headphones.

There is not anything that only works through speakers.

Apple is hyping spatial audio more, but lossless has probably gotten more hype among users.

Dolby Atmos and Lossless just became available on my iPhone 12PM on iOS 14.6. Didn't have to do anything, the logos just showed up in the Music app and the options appeared in Settings.

Has anyone running iOS/iPadOS 15 or macOS 12 gotten spacial audio or lossless? Still not seeing it on those devices.

JUST appeared for me on my iPad Air 4 with iOS 15. I was multitasking and was away from the settings app for a few seconds at most but when I came back the toggle was there and my music app now displays the labels!

Edit: Was trying to determine if downloaded music was preventing the setting and I don't have any download music on my iPad so who knows... (Still no toggle on my 12 Pro Max w/ iOS 15 but I do have music downloaded)

Hi, noticed that anything downloaded to device plays the downloaded version and there’s no “Upgrade all downloaded files”, so quickest way I found to accomplish this is to go Settings -> Music -> Downloaded Music, remove everything and download everything against based on the Music -> Audio Quality settings

Hi I am having the option of Lossless and Dolby Atmos.
I turned on Lossless streaming, unsync my iPhone music, then resynced and it is redownloading my playlist. I am listening to it using AirPods pro and have a feeling that music sounds much better, however how can I check if I am listening to lossless and it is not placebo effect?

Update nevermind: it shows Lossless logo
