I re-downloaded some albums on my iPhone that are lossless now, storage use went from 6 to 17 GB and it sounds noticeably better.

Lossless in Toronto.
IOS 14.6
This is not Lossless. This is a separate thing from Lossless which Apple has a really been using since 2019 for AM (and has existed for iTunes for over a decade). They only just now decided to start labeling it.

songs that are lossless will have a dedicated logo that says “lossless”.

I have high res lossless audio on my iPhone now but I did have to go through and remove a bunch of downloaded albums before I could listen to it.
I haven't seen anything in Dolby Atmos yet.

Here the labels appear, but I just notice that the music has more quality, but it seems that dolby atmos is not active. At least there's no head tracking.

I got it to show up on my iPhone 12 mini / iOS 14.6 just now by going into the Music settings and randomly toggling on and off things like "Automatic Downloads" and "Cellular Data." After doing that a few times, the settings for Atmos suddenly showed up.
This did the trick! Spread the word!
I turned off sync library. Waited a few seconds, then turned it back on. Atmos!!

This works! Thanks! iPhone 12 Pro Max in NA. Noticeable difference with Airpod Pro. Very cool! Different than say, using a pair of high quality IEMs, but I'm really liking it.

That worked! On iPhone 12 Pro iOS 15.

OK, just listened to my first Atomos track: Queensryche's "Silent Lucidity."

Sounds absolutely awful.

The vocals are muddy, the snare drum has lost all of its snap, and the sibilance is painful.

Now, this is just one song, and a couple of weeks ago I did hear Dolby's own Atmos demo of Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On," which sounded brilliant.

So, I'm guessing this is going to be a mixed bag for a while.

Way too much hype! I just tried it. Promptly shut it off! To me, the audio is at an extremely lower volume even cranked up!

Finally showed up on my iPad! Classical sounds great with dolby atmos! I’ll test lossless with my sound system tomorrow.

I got it now through my iPad but not my iPhone yet. Test it lossless audio (with my amp/dac) and it sounds great! I am underwhelmed by Atmos Spatial Audio… I think its okay but I prefer lossless much better.
