And this article is exactly why I never used my 3 Month Free Trial, because Apple Music is scattered and cluttered. I'll stick with Spotify.

For the love of Jobs, just fix using homeshare on iOS devices with large libraries. It has been broken for years. You can keep the rest of the iCloud crap.

It shouldn't in this instance.
How curious. In written English it is nearly always the rule to place commas and full stops inside quotes. However in written American there are many more exceptions to allow punctuation outside of quotes.

I wonder if 'more easy' is an acceptable phrase in the USA. In English it would be akin to 'more big' or 'more hard', just grammatically wrong.

Anyway back to the music app. Can we have 'My Music' as the default option?

I never had an issue with Apple Music. Once you understand there are two distinct sections for music, the catalog and your Library (and that you can add components of the streaming catalog into your library), it's pretty easy to use.

The important point there being "once you understand". The linkages between the library versus your collection have been pretty mystifying, especially when it comes to things like syncing a playlist between multiple devices. I actually took advantage of Apple Support's new Twitter account, posted a tweet to them, and as a result spent the next hour (productively) PM'ing back and forth with support until we got it working. Kudos to support for helping, but even they were confused.

My biggest issue with AMusic is the inability to review what you "hearted" later. I'll hear a song, hit the heart, and days from now will have no recollection of the song's existence. There's no good way to go back to that moment unless you've added the song to a playlist or your library.

And I'm still going to complain about "My Music" being next to "For You" in the interface until it's gone. So who's this app for? Me, or You? Steve NEVER would have let THAT happen!

The whole OS needs an overhaul, not just Music. New interface, get rid of the garbage dock background that gives off a boxy feel and is always in the way of the wallpaper, at least make a button to turn that off! Completely gut the control center, so much more can be added as well as customization in those sections. I just want a new interface.

I absolutely hate what Apple Music has done to the music app.

Apple basically destroyed the iPod part of the iPhone. I actually had to download a third party app to be able to control my music to any functional degree.

Apple please reinstate in the old music application and make a separate Apple Music app.

Please update your post to mention the name of the third party app, many of us would appreciate an alternative !

I think they should separate it from the music app.

I don't use Apple Music, so get it out of my face.

This, exactly.

Completely inappropriate to show ads for Apple Music in the Music app once I've turned it off Doesn't matter if it happens once or daily. 100% inappropriate for a built-in app on a device that I own.

As long as they let me resume playback of a paused curated playlist. So annoying when I pause before getting out of my car, get back in at the end of the day, press play, and it starts shuffling my local tracks!!

Update: Details about the upcoming Apple Music redesign have been shared by 9to5Mac. It is said to feature a "bolder, yet simpler" design that puts an emphasis on black and white backgrounds and text and more of a focus on album art. The "New" tab in Apple Music is being replaced with a "Browse" option with better organizational tools for finding new content, and Apple will encourage users to use a simplified "For You" section.

Connect, Apple Music's artist-focused social network, will remain unchanged, as will Beats 1 Radio. New 3D Touch shortcut previews will be added, Apple will make sharing features more obvious, and a feature allowing listeners to easily access song lyrics will be added. The new Apple Music app will reportedly debut at WWDC in iOS 10 and will be introduced through an iTunes update on the Mac.

Sooooo... it's the same crappy app tied to the same crappy (and unwanted by most) service? Super.

Broken stuff in apple music

  1. Search, i never find what i want.
  2. Now playing, When i start the app, the now playing is never the last song played. And add more info, like lyrics, news from the artist, comments by listinners, number of plays, maybe show similer songs, playsits, versions of the song like a cover or a remix or a mashup... like soundcloud
  3. For You, section is random and i rather have a browse section like spotify where i pick a playlist weither it was made by another user or by apple. And maybe add more songs in each playlist.. 10 songs are not enough.
  4. Regions, That i live in saudi arabia and i have to buy an american itunes card just to play the music that i like, why can it be universal ? I want to play the top charts in the US or Australia ... At any given time. Like spotify.
  5. Connect, it doesn't need its own tab, just integrate it with the other tab, with the now playing, when i view a song or the artist page add a comment section or something, Like Soundcloud
  6. My Library, its too large to be crammed in one space, its the first thing i want to see..
  7. beats, is great to advertise new music and artists, it doesn't need a whole tab, delete the other radio stations, i rather have better playlists...
What do u guys think ?

Wow. All right, calm down. If you don't use it, turn it off.
Sort of, but not really. There is no way to dismiss/hide: Showing only music on this iPhone. Show all music.

Likewise, there is no way to replace that Radio link in the bottom right-hand corner (like you can hide the Connect link).

What's needed is separate iOS apps for iTunes and AppleMusic.

no more stupid white on pink? YAS

and curious about the new "For You" tab as the current one is the worst cluttered crap i have ever seen

Which 3rd party app? I need it!
It's called marvis - it's good but has adverts :(

What would be in iTunes, and what would be in Apple Music?

While I'm probably one of the few who do not mind the current UI of AM, I certainly welcome the new and fresh design. I hope they also fix the 'for you' tab to actually recommend music that I have yet to discover. Not artists and bands whom I've already heard of.

Hopefully next is the horrific Podcasts app. I mean, for the love of god just re-release the previous version of Podcasts before they selected all the visual components in interface builder, randomly clicked and dragged so it looked like a tornado hit it, and said "that's good... ship it."

Apple Music needs to work a hell of a lot harder on classical.

Here's what I mean. Their metadata apparently overrides the track metadata when you're using your own library on the iPhone. Which is a problem, because their metadata is crap. I'm very careful to make the "Sort composer" tag hold the right information; the Music app just ignores it randomly. Hector Berlioz sorts under "B"; Ludwig van Beethoven under "L." Johann Strauss under "S", Johann Sebastian Bach under "J." And so on.
The same tracks work fine in a fourth-gen iPod touch. But Apple Music destroys everything it touches.

That's not stuff that's broken, that needs fixing.

That's just a list of your personal preferences.

I find it difficult to believe you can never find what you want using search. Is it stuff that isn't in the Apple Music library, or is it just not finding stuff you know should be there?

For You shouldn't be random - it should debased on a mix of your library, plus stuff you've clicked the heart icon on.

You can swap out the Connect tab for Playlists.

Don't know what you mean by 6.
