I'm surprised Tesla is nowhere to be found on this list.
I thought the same but they haven’t really done anything in 2017. They’re still struggling with model 3 production.

Also to everyone arguing about the HomePod (yet again): It didn’t come out in 2017, and the article specifically doesn’t mention it. The same thing goes for AirPods. Reading comprehension, people.

I'd agree with this. I've been really happy with my Apple products in the last year. Airpods, I use every day and are pretty amazing, my Apple Watch series 3 has been perfect, iPad 10.5 is the best computer I've owned, and the iPhone X has surpassed even what I was expecting. Best combination of hardware, software, and services out there.

Really? Really? After the past year Apple had, its more Software vs Hardware, and the hardware is winning.

How anybody can in good faith claim Apple most innovative in software after all the fiasco's last year with crippling phone performance because of ****** battery technology, and all the security issues with macOS and iOS, whomever gave this award was paid off or infatuated by the Apple of the past and chooses to remain blissfully ignorant about Apple of today.

There is no good reason to offer Apple accolades on software merit at the moment.

Wow... Apple doesn't update the Mac Pro for over four years and still take the number-one spot on the list of world's most innovative companies.

A new Mac Pro doesn't matter to 90% of Apple users. Even if they did, I wouldn't call putting the latest off the shelf parts in a box and loading macOS on it as innovation. Airpods, iPad Pro, Apple Watch, and iPhone X are much more innovative than an old legacy desktop computer.

Just because it doesn't have anything to do with the Mac, doesn't mean it isn't innovation. The sooner people realize that the Mac is a very small (yet important) piece of Apple, they will be better off. They have computers available to do everything you need it to do. If it doesn't meet your needs, there are options out there.

When I read this, the first thing in my mind was, "Award for company best at locking in users is... apple."

LOL.....how much did Apple pay them for this honor?
iPhone X = Note 8
HomePod = Amazon Echo (And amazon integrates software just as well as they do)
Apple Watch 3 = Samsung Gear Watch

The list goes on and on, really they haven't been innovative in a very long time, even the original iPhone was simple an improvement on the smart phones that existed at the time.

Let's look at what Amazon has managed to do by comparison:
eReaders - Hands down they win on this one, they are easier to read on than tablets, yes they do only one thing, but they do it incredibly well.

Fire Tablets - Honestly their performance compares to the iPad and is substantially cheaper. Although this isn't truly innovative, what is innovative is the Mayday button that can summon live help within about 30 seconds and the help can fix about 98% of all issues on the first call.

Amazon Echo - This invented the category of smart speakers, so can't really call Apple innovative on this one.

Then Google has come up with wireless earbuds that will translate in real time and look nicer than Apple's airpods.

What have they done in the past 5 years that has actually been innovative? Even Facial ID is copied from preexisting technology.
Fire phone. ;):D:eek:

Apple: We made a speaker that leaves white rings on your table.
Space X: We made the Falcon Heavy.

Apple wins!

Oh come on! I suppose you also believe that modern 4K tv's haven't involved any innovation in 50 years either, because they have just had "simple improvements" over televisions from the 1960s?

2008 MacBook with flawless keyboard won't be retired until I stop hearing about "Just Get AppleCare" for a $2500 MBP so that I can get a guaranteed 3 YEARS out of the the new keyboard.

On another topic, Apple Watch got returned the other day. Eh.

Amazing how long they can still build on Steve's legacy, while failing to create a new one.
Looks like Apple is far and away from failing from every conceivable metric. What’s amazing is the Tim has been at the helm for almost 7 years and Apple has grown tremendously under his leadership, while making product decisions Steve would probably not have made.

Amazon Go has one location, it’s a proof of concept and hardly affects anyone - it also wasn’t open to the public until 2018. Alexa was released in 2014, these awards are specifically for 2017.
I forgot a lot. Here’s a quote of an article with other innovations they’ve made.
Just this past year, Prime Video became available in more than 200 countries and territories, following the November debut of The Grand Tour, Amazon’s most-watched premiere ever. Twitch, the streaming video-game network that Amazon acquired in 2014, unveiled its first three original titles from its recently formed studios. Amazon invested millions in startups that will build voice-control apps for the intelligent assistant Alexa and give her thousands of new skills. The company opened two dozen new fulfillment centers, became the largest online store in India, and made its first delivery by autonomous drone in the United Kingdom.

Here’s the whole very interesting article. https://www.fastcompany.com/3067455/why-amazon-is-the-worlds-most-innovative-company-of-2017

That is easily one of the worst composed portraits I have ever seen. The message isn't clear, the positioning is awkward and uncomfortable looking and the negative spacing is pointless. I get that he/she was likely going for a 'visionary' type pose, but man is that bad composition. Not to mention Tim is a logistics man who pushed products through for the majority of his time with the company. That's what he was great at. If Apple is trying to bill him as a 'visionary' like SJ they're barking up the wrong tree. I'm a long time, die-hard Apple fan, but most of the choices they are making lately have been so off point. It's embarrassing.

Well, it could probably be argued that Apple's solution to how to deal with the problems of older batteries was, in fact, innovative. it just maybe could have been communicated properly.

I think the trouble with your argument really is that you are looking for the exception to the rule, and presenting that as the norm. When, of course, it really isn't.

As a product and stock owner, I wish they'd drop all their SJW, PC, political nonsense and return to being revolutionary rather than evolutionary and virtue signalers. I haven't been wowed, amazed, or even simply excited by an Apple product in a while.
