Not sure why so much negativity.

If there's actually a strong competitor, I wonder if Apple would go above and beyond to woo our business.

But as is, no need, from the posts I see from this thread a lot of people are more than happy to hand over their money as fast as possible just to get the toy in hand, hope this will last for Apple.

This is nothing about entitlement, far from it. This is a thread to discuss if Apple appreciates us as consumers for continuing to support their products and give them business, by taking the chance of being the very first group of people buying a new product category and be the advocates (advertising) to get more people onboard with this new device.
That "wooing" would be features, price, etc. of the product, if they were trying to compete for your business. The watch isn't a Kickstarter campaign, and you're trying to compare two very different scenarios, hence the negativity.

With hundreds of thousands about to be shipped, nothing made by Apple is rare, exclusive, or luxurious. Expensive? Yes. Special? Not even close.

You pay and you get a good product. That's commerce.

We paid to get what we THINK and BELIEVE to be a good product.

Not many of us have had the chance to use it with iPhone synced to make an informed decision before making this purchase. Other people (none early adopters) will be asking us (first batch early adopters) about how we feel and if the watch is worth it to form their purchase decision.

Apple clearly has other people waiting for watches as far out as June. I'm sure they don't need a gimmick to sell this watch.

So, don't tell them.

We are buying this and advertising for them...

At the very least we should expect some kind of token for appreciation. Like... A discount, an electronic badge, limited edition watch face. Something.

This should be proposed to Apple if they aren't thinking about it already.

How about you reward yourself. Buy 2 watches, use 1 and keep the other in its packaging and put it in storage. In 10 years, sell the other watch for tons of cash on eBay.

I totally agree with this thread. I got in for the confirmed 4/24 delivery date so I am not here throwing a fit because I did not get in in time.

I will even take it a little further and say that apple should look at who has bought what in the past and reward those people who were not so lucky with the 4/24 delivery date. I have have been an apple user since the 90s, have had every iPhone since the first one, always bought every new product that they have had so you are damn right I should be before someone who has only been a iPhone user since the 6. Get to the back of the line noob!:apple:

That's nothing. I've been an Apple customer since the 90's.

Bought every Newton they shipped: 100, 120, 130, 2100. I should get a free watch just for that! And the Malibu beach house somebody else tried to claim earlier!

:)

Free buffing cloth?

Preeeeeetty sure they owe us nothing. ;)

If there is some type of widespread problem that warrants a response (Antennagate, etc), then yes, I'd expect them to make it right.

Do I expect free stuff just because? No.

Why did you preorder in the middle of the night? Why do you want it so badly? You're getting it. Does that not bring you pleasure? Do you not expect that it will enhance your life in some way, no matter how small?

THAT is what you get from being an early adopter. Congratulations. Enjoy it. Tell all your friends and bask in their insane jealousy. Or just get the latest release from a company that has a proven track record of consistently delivering amazing products that you have grown to love and adore.

Or keep it tucked under your sleeve, only glancing at it while securely locked in your room, muttering to yourself how you're not going to do all this "free advertising" for a company that didn't give you a sticker or a lollipop.

Number one million and one

There is a difference between being one in a million and one of a million.

Just got an email from Apple thanking me for being an early adopter and loyal customer! They are upgrading my Sport to the Edition for free!!!!
