Quite whining about people wanting Apple to stand by their work and man up to their mistakes and making lame excuses for same.

But Apple has stood by their work. "Non-issue," remember? What if Apple holds the party line and does not admit anything tomorrow? Will you a)return the phone or b)continue to complain, sue, etc.? B is an unreasonable choice. This is not a safety hazard and no one's rights are being violated. You can still return the phone and wash your hands of the whole thing.

Can't, past the return window, and never could without a restock fee.

No its the honorable choice, but that you don't understand that is completely understandable.
You can still return the phone and wash your hands of the whole thing.
No I can't but Apple still has a chance to do the honorable thing. Again, they can't fix the phone line without admitting the error you claim they never made.

Sucks to be you.

Use the workaround or just return it? So the customers can not complain and demand fixes to severe defects? Every business out would love to have a sucker like you buying their stuff.

No, they'd hate it. What truck dealer wants customers complaining that their previous small car got much better mileage, so their new big truck must be defective. Or what Toyota dealer wants to hear from customers who expected their new Prius to haul cords of firewood like their previous F4 truck did, so the Prius must be defective.

Incorrect. 30-day no questions policy with restocking fee waived. This is clearly posted in their letter regarding iPhone 4.

Have you actually tested that hypothesis?
of course, takes the bridging level of signals loss back to a much smaller mass attenuation loss and where it couldn't complete calls it then can.
I have. Took the tape right back off. The risk of sticky residue wasn't worth the difference in signal readings, even around that formerly narrow 3rd bar.
And now the bars obfuscation again. This is about dropping calls, not 'bars'.

Why do I get the feeling you'd bring a knife to a gun fight? Up your game if you want to be a convincing apologist.

Can't, past the return window, and never could without a restock fee.

check your facts. nobody is past the return deadline (30 days) for full refund, and there is no restock fee (its in the apple policy). plan A is a viable option to all of you with issues

Of course there will be no recall. Tomorrow Steve will just show us all how to hold an iPhone correctly. And to think after all these years we've been holding it wrong.

Come on, do you really think Apple sold all the iPhone 4s? I took a copy of that letter into AT&T - didn't make any difference to them, 10% restock fee on Apple products still stands, and AT&T starts counting the days from the day the phone is purchased, the 15th of June.

But that's the problem isn't it? All the 'just return it' apologists either don't know what they are talking about or more likely don't care.

Perform your own recall.

Return iPhone 4.
Wait for definitive fix.
Purchase iPhone 4.

Lol, Samsung must be happy about this, the Galaxy S Captivate drops on the 18th, a Droid phone with very similar specs to the iPhone 4. Samsung will welcome your returns of the iPhone 4.

Waiting to see what happens tomorrow, will make a decision from there, nearly 500 days since last Mac Pro update and now iPhone 4 issues (I live in a strong coverage zone, but do a lot of traveling for business, will be awesome to go into another state/city with lesser service and not be able to make calls).

Would hate to put a case on this thing though, especially after the job Ive and his team did, this phone is truly a gorgeous device.

So, assuming you make rational economic decisions, that must mean the "issue" was, in monetary term, clearly smaller to you than the alleged restocking fee.
Ah now we see your Shylock side to go with your Shyster one. No I know this is probably incomprehensible to you but standing up to corporate negligence doesn't come with a price tag.

But I do notice that you tried to wiggle from 'return it for a full refund' to 'surely your willing to pay to rid your self if this defective product'. No but I am willing to hold Apple accountable for their failures and their deceits surrounding them for as long as it takes.

I think it is an unfair burden to put on people that they should have to read and possibly comprehend what Apple has said on this issue. All they want is an iPhone that works. When they purchased the iPhone nobody told them any reading was going to be required.

That's clearly irrational if your goal is a phone that works for you. But if you want to tilt at windmills, please go ahead. Apple should charge you what a therapist would (not cheap).

One interesting guess is that Apple will take care of that fee issue tomorrow. Make people put their own money where their mouth is.

insisting apple fix their phone is the rational way, not that I would expect you to understand that.

But if you want to tilt at windmills, please go ahead.
This from the man trying to pretend there is no problem. Irony much?
Apple should charge you what a therapist would (not cheap).
Or just fix the phone.

Aha! You do have a problem . . . with ATT. Unfortunately for you, you explicitly agreed to those conditions when you purchased the phone from them. Chances are you didn't read those terms in your excitement, but who's fault is that?

BTW, did you just now discover the problem on Thursday July 15? Not likely . . . So is it ATT/Apple's fault you delayed in returning the equipment under the terms you agreed to?

yes I read the thread where you first speculated it. Sort of like Fox News you are reporting on your own rumor. again up your game.
Make people put their own money where their mouth is.
Yes that would make so much sense, paying hundreds of dollars for each AT&T account to close them out rather than just fix the problem with the phone.

I guess that means you won't be bringing up the 'irrational' tangent again, right?

Sure they do, even in a bare device left-handed death grip in a (slightly) weaker signal area.

The 8GB 3GS is still available in the Apple Store. Which do you prefer? You get to choose.

Not for me. WHn griped in the left hand bare, called tell me I'm 'cutting out' and they cannot hear me well. After I move me hand, bang it works like a phone again. However, when I'm in LOS of a cell tower, I cannot replicate this issue.

Can't, past the return window, and never could without a restock fee.

Addressed this in earlier post.

Honorable? Don't be so modest!

Error? What error? Most iPhone4s works flawlessly, people with problems are in the minority. C'mon, man, don't you think you are blowing this out of all proportion and buying into the hype? Just a teensy weensy wittle bit, maybe? No? Well then -au contraire, mon frere, it sucks to be YOU! :p

as did Apple customers. But Apple is only trying to buy off theirs, so will the apologist please stop saying 'just return it for a full refund' when for many people that has never been an option.

Get Apple to fix the phone and then everyone will happy.

I say this without a trace of sarcasm . . . just don't put your hand there! You are obviously capable of moving the hand so that it doesn't cause the issue, why not just learn to hold it THAT way. Why is that SUCH a big deal? Or put a dang case. Or take it back! AHHHHHHHHGGGGGGG!

Hopefully, after the recently announced, alleged software signal processing fix, this really will become a "non-issue."

Stay Tuned.

Never? Really . . . your gonna stick with "never been an option." In your case, you had the option yesterday and everyday before that. Yeah, it sucks to pay the restocking fee, but if you would have put as much effort into arguing with them about their "defective" phone as you do arguing on the damn internet, you probably could have gotten that waived.
