Apple Now Accepting Pre-Orders for iPhone 4S, Unlocked Coming in November

You Americans are so lucky with these prices. $80 a month for 900 minutes + $25 for 2 GB data (ATT), so $105 a month + $199 for the device. That's so cheap.
A similar in the Netherlands will cost us $140 dollars a month plus once $70 for the device, and that's only 1750 MB of data (so 1.75 GB). The total sum over 2 years will be $3430... :S
The total costs for the ATT plan will be $2719. That's a difference of more than $700!

Thats perfectly fine of course. Its the melodramatic proclamations of doom we can do without.
I had a horrible time trying to order via Apple. I kept on getting all kinds of errors, from a generic error, to "your account isn't upgrade eligible" (bull-****), to claiming I'd entered the wrong info.
Went to ATT and reserved just fine.

Wow. I thought Europeans usually laughed at us because we supposedly pay so much more. It looks like the European companies have caught up in terms of data pricing. You guys do get better international roaming rates, though (you had better, given how small countries are over there - otherwise it would be like me roaming to use my phone in New Jersey).
When I tried at 4 this morning NOTHING!!! Just tried before I head off to work through the Apple website and AT&T as my service provider and I was able to do the pre-order in 3 minutes.

Both servers became crippled last year. Plus then there's the less than hot demand during the Verizon launch. I guess I don't see this as a lack of demand per say, but perhaps the lack of people who are eligible for a full discount.

Not in the UK.
My iPhone 4 with unlimited, all you can eat data, tethering, 300 minutes, & 3000 texts cost me £69 up front, and then a 24 month £35 a month commitment.
Excited for my new iphone....however.....

Did anyone else have this problem ???
I live in a walkup building in Manhattan. No doorman. So I tried to get my phone delivered to my work, but it wouldn't let me change the shipping address (option link was inactive). Is the shipping address required to be the same as your billing address?
Am I going to have to ask for a day off just to wait for my iPhone to get delivered? I'm not really complaining, but I mean ... come on. Kind of silly.

Just preordered on the Apple Store app. Smooth as butter, under 2 minutes. Glad I woke up to do this instead of waiting until 3 something in the morning
I also ended up getting caught in the "preorder" system they implemented when everything went to hell. I received a "reservation" number.
About 5 minutes ago I received an email from Apple asking me to finalize my iPhone order. I followed the link, chose my plan, checked out and received a final order number.
I'm glad that this mess is over... at least for a couple years for me.

shipping address
Hey, about the shipping address, I had the same issue. They would ship a $3000 iMac to my alternate address but not an iPhone? And I've been trying to get into the order status page and its been down for a while. When I finally get through it will tell me the order shipped....I'm sure.
