Would love to see this with backlighting.

Good lord $149?

For that money I’d want mechanical keys and backlit keys
Don't want "mechanical" keys, but, at that price it should include backlit keys! ...It took sooooo long to get black keys, but, where is the backlight? Do we have to wait 10 more years?

Attractive but way too costly. I can afford to wait and see if the prices come down.
What incentive does Apple have to lower prices after intentionally penning up demand for these accessories?

They’re not coming down until, possibly, the next slate of Magic Accessories refreshes.

Ok will people always carry these two equipment along with their MBP,MB,MBA etc? I heard that new MBR keyboards are having some issues.

It will be way too dark if it doesn't light up. I'd buy it if it had backlighting, will keep my white numeric magic keyboard had it for years.

I would love to buy these. If only the price tag weren't so obscene.

I also prefer the look of the original-generation Magic Trackpad, I think. But this one adds haptics…

Those sellers on e-bay selling space grey keyboards for Euro 500-700 will be ‘dissaponted’ :D

what's the travel on this keys?
if its anything like the 2016/7 MacBook Pros I'm staying away ..

never mind the reliability issues...

I use the (white) Apple BT Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse 2 now with my 15" MBP, which is serving as a desktop replacement and rarely leaves the house. I also use a Magic Mouse 2 with my 12" MacBook, and since I use it in various locations around the house and out on the deck as well as travel with that machine, no need for a separate keyboard. I do take along the mouse, though. I'll be buying a Space Grey Magic Mouse 2 to match my Space Grey 12" MB! :) May eventually buy the space grey keyboard and trackpad, too, plus the mouse to use with my desktop replacement setup as well.......

Ah, true, forgot that - could you spec the white one to be equivalent? Wonder if there was still any price difference.

If I remember right you could, it seemed like, at the time, the black ones were more popular-it’s not like Appel doesn’t always try to up-sale right? (they also seemed to have a rubberlike finish/feel opposed to the plastic feel of the white). My wife still has hers from college, still has the feel and fires up, just shows it’s age.

That pricing is an absolute joke. You could buy a mechanical keyboard for LESS than that (not that everyone wants a mechanical keyboard but that's beside the point).

The Apple Tax is real, but the line's gotta be drawn somewhere. Sheesh.

Glad there's now the option, but it does seem a bit cheeky that the Space Grey versions cost more. Reminiscent of when buying a black MacBook cost more than a white one.
Oh my, the nostalgia. I always thought those black MacBooks were the coolest looking laptops, especially with the glowing Apple logo. They were unicorns, too (at least at my age/location at that time). I saw the white ones occasionally, but rarely the black ones.

So....$300 for a keyboard and trackpad....Wow.

Wow= colour me unimpressed.

Have you actually shopped around? The way you state this makes it seem as if you think all keyboards should be $100 or less.

I have and want mechanical keyboards but you're not going to find them built like this is built. I've spent far more for cheap plastic PC accessories.

Would directly order it, if the keyboard was backlit, with Touch Bar and without the numpad. I don't mind if that is not wireless then as I use it on the desk anyway.

Don't forget the Magic Mouse 2 as well!

Not cheeky, it's a sign Jobs is coming back in June. :p

But seriously, typical of Apple to charge that way, and when the product looks so good, a tad extra would be sound business sense.

These guys continue to blow me away with the inflated prices. At what point will people stop buying??

Can you show me how this price is inflated? Even off-brand aluminum keyboards cost around $120. It's strange this vacuum that people use to price and value Apple products as inflated or as if they're tricking people into paying more.
