So how many years did it take Apple to do a wireless numeric keypad? Let’s not act like this is some great invention. They ignored our requests for years.

My question is, have they changed the Magic Mouse since the first gen where you couldn’t right click unless you lifted your left finger off the mouse first? I hated that.

This "Keyboard" can work as a wired keyboard correct?!? If so... buyah! Reports that past wireless Magic 2s did...

WOW, just when you think they can't go any lower, they break new record.

Ah, true, forgot that - could you spec the white one to be equivalent? Wonder if there was still any price difference.

There was. Can’t remember directly off the top of my head, 50 or 60 or something similar. I remember planning to buy a MacBook in 2008, then figured it actually wasn’t that much cheaper than a base MacBook Pro with the Pro having much better specs so I ended up getting that instead.

So....$300 for a keyboard and trackpad....Wow.

Wow= colour me unimpressed.
it's action like by Apple which has made me leave the Apple ecosystem, $20 more for a different colour is just insane IMO.

4 years ago I had an iPhone, 2 iPads, 3 Macs, Apple Time Capsule, and three Apple Tv's, not one of those products has been replaced by an Apple product. The only Apple product I still have now is my 2012 MBA and once that dies my final connection to Apple will be gone, unless someone at Apple takes their head out of their ass.

The keyboard looks awesome, would love to have one... but I'm wondering where the Touch Bar is?

I'm wonderingering the same! It's a perfect time for Apple to expand the touchbar to the desktops and make it a staple i/o device.

Possibly the most exciting news to come out of Apple today. Whats that you say? Apple released a new iPad??? Wow let me check it out. I can't wait to see the new innovation.....the magical new features......the amazing new design.......wait a minute......dammit Tim you screwed up again!

Apple should make wired devices whenever wireless is not a must. For instance for keyboards and mice. At least as an option.
The current Magic Keyboard and Trackpad are usuable in wired mode though, you can just always use them while connected to the Mac via Lightning cable. The Magic Mouse is kind of an exception here because of the placement of the charging port, but with the keyboard and trackpad, there's nothing stopping you from just using them wired all the time.

Have you actually shopped around? The way you state this makes it seem as if you think all keyboards should be $100 or less.

I have and want mechanical keyboards but you're not going to find them built like this is built. I've spent far more for cheap plastic PC accessories.

It's a lot of money whether you agree or not, yes it's "premium" built but it's still just too much, Apple prices are quite a lot higher in the last few years, t's just a few years ago you could get a top end MBP for about €2500, it's 500-600 higher now, and it doesn't stop there, just look at iPhone prices.

A few years these a trackpad would set you back $79, it's $129 now for the regular colour.
Plenty more examples.

Have they still not moved the mouse’s lightning port to somewhere that isn’t the worst place possible?

I don’t know why I still use my Magic Mouse. It gets to low battery and I have to decide whether to charge it or stop working...

You changed your whole digital world because of things like charging $20 extra for a different color of something you would use every day?

Apple just continues to do what has been done so far - ripping off its customer .. and no backlit keyboard in 2018?? .. this is just a pure tragedy. I own the 1st gen keyboard (smaller), and no backlit is sooo annoying. But luckily we got more watch bands, so I guess everything's fine :D

The charging port placement on the Magic Mouse is just flat out wrong...
Steve definitely would have thrown it at someone.

Can you show me how this price is inflated? Even off-brand aluminum keyboards cost around $120. It's strange this vacuum that people use to price and value Apple products as inflated or as if they're tricking people into paying more.

What are you saying, amazes, vacuum people use? Chill out man. Take out google, search for aluminium keyboards and you'll find a couple for $149 and up. You'll also find a great many for $49-79. Apple isn't tricking anyone to pay more, unless someone is being tricked somehow. Maybe you're being tricked? Maybe I am. I'm starting to think $149 isn't a lot for that keyboard anymore

I'm hoping that since they haven't moved on adding the Touch Bar to their external keyboards, that this means the DEATH of the Touch Bar and we can have our beloved function row back on the MBPs.

$150 for that keyboard? My god that’s inflated. $69 is more like it. a full RGB gaming tournament keyboard costs $150. And from a comparatively tiny company. It’s amazing what apple gets away with.

I am very excited for the black wireless keyboard with number pad, but not the price.

Hopefully Amazon puts it up for order soon so I am use a gift card to bring the price down a bit.
