Well, it's about time! I was so confused as to why Apple wouldn't have done this separately, considering the fact that they stand to make a lot more money doing that then to just make it exclusive to the iMac Pro.

(Unless this is for preparation for the 2018 Mac Pro?)

I will buy the keyboard, soon. Space gray don't cost much more here. Like $12 more then light gray.
I can deal with that. My keyboards all have some minor issues now. It's time. I've been waiting for this. Had hoped for the smaller without the numeric pad in space gray too, but well...

Trackpad will be bought soon too. But maybe not immediately. Mine still works fine.
But it will look nicer with a space gray too.

So how many years did it take Apple to do a wireless numeric keypad? Let’s not act like this is some great invention. They ignored our requests for years.

They came out with one in 2003 which was discontinued in 2007. Plastic. I got one with my first iMac in 2006. When they switched to aluminum keyboards in 2007 the full size keyboard was only available wired. One can only guess Apple didn't see the demand.

Would it have killed them to sell the black keyboard at the white keyboard price? It's already high for a keyboard. What is the worry, that they would sell too many?

Ugh.

I bought the white ones at the beginning of March.... JUST OUTSIDE of 14 day return policy to trade.....

Have you tried returning it? I've heard of cases where Apple handled the 14 day return policy very leniently, although it most certainly depends on which people you get to talk to. If you just want a space gray one instead, I also wouldn't rule it out that they let you swap them out (for the price difference of the two) if you happen to talk to the right guy.

Starting today, Apple is selling the Magic Keyboard With Numeric Keypad in Space Gray on a standalone basis, allowing customers who don't own an iMac Pro to purchase the accessory for $149.

The Space Gray Magic Keyboard was introduced alongside the iMac Pro and was previously only sold alongside that machine.

Apple is also selling a Space Gray version of the Magic Trackpad 2 for $149 and a Space Gray Magic Mouse 2 for $99, which means that all of the exclusive accessories sold with the iMac Pro are now available to all customers.

While iMac Pro owners still get a main machine that's available in an exclusive Space Gray color, the accessories, which had been selling on eBay for quite a bit of money, are no longer exclusives.

Orders placed today for the new Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad 2 will ship out and deliver later this week.

$324.45 with tax....sitting in my cart....trying to resist the dark colored bauble...

You changed your whole digital world because of things like charging $20 extra for a different color of something you would use every day?
Nope, I changed it years ago when Apple got greedy and clamped down on its ecosystem, todays 20$ cash grab just confirms I made the correct decision. My "digital world" besides my MBA switched from Apple a long time ago.
