What about the MINI?

What about the xMac?

What about the <$999 market?

What about a DOCKING STATION capability? No excuse now, that its "your first intel laptops ever".

/There is lots of dark clouds on the Apple computer product horizon.

Well I was right...

They are keeping the older MacBooks and selling them at a reduced price!;)

whats up with all of the glossy screens on EVERYTHING. i sure hope matte is an option. if not this is a terrible step for graphic designers.

All i can say is these are sweet and im now not sure whether to upgrade to the better macbook or go all the way to the macbook pro

umpf...nothing revolutionary. almost like ipod nano 3g to nano 4g.

MBP

only glossy: negative but will check it out
only two usb: bad
only FW800: bad
express card slot: maybe there is a FW 400 card possible?
micro dvi: wellcome to adaptor shopping. only $49.95. if you ever forget the adaptor you won't give you presentation because nobody will have one around:rolleyes:
gpu: good
battery life 4-5hrs: average
cpu: 2.4 - 2.53 GHz as expected
looks: have to see but looks good to me
weight: ?????
footprint: same as before, so not too good
price: not sure if this is competitive

summary: so far ok but not too exciting. will depend on weight, screen quality, sound quality, heat.

i like the cinema display though. too bad i already own a Dell 24 inch.

did anyone mention that it would be glossy only?
btw all the rumors so far were true omg
even the pictures -_- so boring

1599 for a mb
why just dont call i powerbook or 13inch mbp

Nothing epic, but let's be real - they don't have to be. It's enough to get them to 10 million units for 2008 and that's a lot of cashola even at the reduced margins these three new models will be bringing.

Mini, probably Macworld, aluminized and still uber-expensive.

****in Apple.

xMac, doubtful.

$999 market unsure.

what were you expecting?

lol, people expect WAY too much out of these...

I expected something cheaper, like pretty much everybody else here. The only difference is that I didn't suddenly forget what I expected once they announced it. If Apple does one thing good it's create brand loyalty, people will love what they put out no matter what. I love it too, I just wish it fit into my budget.

Rather pathetic updates....

I was ready to pick up a new Cinema display. It better look a lot nicer in real life. Are the 'new' iMacs really that successful that Apple felt the need to apply that design to all other computers/peripherals?

I’m disappointed….. This $1,299 model is actually a processor step down from the previous one. The intel graphics of the old one were crap for sure, but this new Nvidia one is still integrated graphics. Shareholders aren’t going to like this… Apple is going to have a tough time convincing people to buy these. Everybody is making macbook-inspired laptops these days for less than $1,000 and with better hardware (like 4 gigs of RAM and bigger hard drives).

I'm hoping Australia doesn't get done over with the conversion rate. I really hope to stay under my $2500 budget
Me too... if they simply convert the $ to £ I won't be able to afford one... but I'm hoping it will be around £800 or less.
