As a retailer, Target should be able to sell the things for whatever they want - even if they want to sell at a loss (which I don't think they are). As Apple tries to sell goods at retailers other than an Apple Store - which they need to do for growth - they'll increasingly face issues where those retailers, who pay a wholesale price, will simply charge less than an Apple Store. Trying to manipulate the selling price that Target charges is called vertical price fixing, and it's illegal.

Now the question(s) is what are the wholesale prices Apple charges to retailers?

Dammit, I hate you for pointing out this sale.

Now I'm gonna be hovering over this cart all day long deciding whether or not I want this thing.
You know you want it. They're taking even more money off (I think it's 10%) if you pick up in store today. ;)

Thankfully all the stores in my area went out of stock shortly after making the post, eliminating the temptation of me purchasing it.

Besides, I just dropped $1700 on a Macbook Pro and an Applecare kit, no big purchases until next summer at the soonest.

My 42 mm SS Series 2 arrived at 10:30 AM today, having been delivered overnight after being ordered around 4:40 PM.

First thing I noticed is how extremely pristine the new watch is- looked at it with a 10X loupe and there isn't a mark or a speck of dust or debris on it. It is in an obviously unused condition.

It arrived in a long-format box (as opposed to the original cube for the SS model). I don't own a sport model, but I think this is the same or similar box as that used for the sport models. The unit itself was wrapped in the usual translucent plastic film.

The unit is loaded with the latest 3.1.1 WatchOS. Power was around 75%.

The watch came with the 1m charger cable but no charger brick.

Pairing to my iPhone 7 Plus was dramatically faster than with the Series 0 SS watch and full synch took less than 5 minutes.

The watch itself is considerably faster. The size and weight difference is not noticeable. Display is clearly brighter and surprisingly, the haptic action is considerably stronger than my very early production Series 0 example.

Yeah it's a failure in many countries, the reason is expensive more like a gimmick[/B], meanwhile I was planning to get one but bought new iPhone 5s (silver) instead and saved a lot of money, Now I have four iPhones :D

So, you're trying to tell me the Apple Watch is a failure, because it's more expensive in other countries? No matter how expensive the Apple Watch is, a consumer will find a way to purchase it if they truly want to.

How would you know what classifies the Apple Watch as a failure, if Apple doesn't really sales numbers regarding the Apple Watch?

From my interpretation of your post, you're saying the Apple Watch is a failure because it's a gimmick and expensive, but who classifies this as a gimmick? By your standards? Are you speaking for everyone? To me, I think you are making generalizations without providing any credentials what you stated. Unless you have a source that can depict why the Apple is a "Failure in other countries."

Also, what countries are you referring to? India? Canada?

You Stated the Apple Watch is a gimmick, and then you previously stated in your post that you plan on purchasing one. If you're claiming the Apple Watch is a gimmick and a failure, then why would you even consider purchasing one in the first place? This Leads me to believe that you have no intentions of purchasing an Apple Watch, only to belittle it and or chastise the Apple Watch for apparent reasons without supporting why you believe it's a failure.

This was enough incentive to pull the trigger and upgrade to Series 2 from my current Series 0. Being able to transfer over the link bracelet is icing on the cake. Now, I have one for normal use and one for higher-risk activities- action pistol, motorcycling, etc. and since both can talk to my phone, fully interchangeable.

I used to do the same with my Omega Seamasters- quartz for high impact activities, mechanical for everything else.

Also handy to have two when traveling more than 22-24 hours. Leave one off, switch over when the first one's battery is depleted. I take long trips 6-8 times a year and this will solve my only problem with the watch.

Same here. Just ordered my upgrade to a Series 2 refurb. I wish they had 38mm ones left in stock as my wife needs an upgrade too. But she has a new one on order for now (birthday coming up):)

I wonder what it will take, if anything, to turn Apple Watch sales around?

It's a solution to a problem that didn't exist is really the heart of the problem.

Would you believe, nothing?

I predict an Apple Watch market the same way the iPad dominates their respective markets in terms of profit and mindshare. Yes, there will be competition and alternatives, but for all intents and purposes, the Apple Watch is 'the' smart watch to get.

You are continously making rude statements, first you answer my question? Why did @Relentless Power bought Gold iPhone 7 Plus if this color looks cheap to him ?? I need a answer??? are you fooling people who don't know what you purchase???

Best Buy open box counter is the best way to get one at a discount, not a formerly broken item.
Only that the (potentially!) "formerly broken item" had been individually tested (and repaired, if necessary) prior to delivery, whereas the open box item may have seen various abuses by curious customers and could well have manufacturing problems that you as customer will experience first, as mass production usually excludes 100% individual testing.

Thanks for the review this is the closest I have seen to a review that I wanted to know about. How is the difference in the apps load/response speeds? The slow load times from the series 0 is one of the reasons I sold mine.

Got my watch today and it had a large knick in the glass. Rang Apple before I came to the forum. I know a strange thing. They gave me a rebate instantly and put in the notes for an Apple care advanced swap next week. I now have an Apple Watch series 2 black on black for the low price of 260 bucks. So I did all the right things and they responded in kind. The experience reminds me why the hell I buy Apple over all others. The whole thing took 5 minutes with like 15 hold time for a pre holiday slam that was amazing.

But again positive things about Apple are no longer allowed around here.

Please resume your bashing of all apple

In 3......2........1.........

In some apps, the difference is dramatic- maps for example, tends to simply hang on the S0 but loads within 4 seconds on the S2. Other apps partly depend on whether the information is already loaded to the phone. BBC News, for example, was in the 5 second range of the app was already in the background on the phone, but took longer if it wasn't open on the phone.

At any rate, night and day difference for many apps.

I just bought a refurbished series 1 since the screen on my series 0 came loose and I'm out of warranty. I will find a place that will fix it and gift it to my girlfriend. I don't need the gps and other bells and whistles of a series 2 so I was glad to drop just $250 on the series 1. Should get it tomorrow too.
