If you read it says "suggested" doesnt mean official prices.
It's Apple who are 'suggesting' the prices. Of course it's official.
Give up and admit you are wrong.

When the day comes that my biggest concern becomes whether I can manage to buy an iPad 2 or any other piece of tech is when I take a step back and evaluate WTF is going on with my life.
so what time zone will be used for the online ordering? i'm in canada and we have like 5 different time zones!i'm in EST
I am an American. I'm not whining about anything, but I have a word for all you who are calling the complaining Americans greedy, arrogant, america-centric, etc
STOP ACTING SO SELF RIGHTEOUS!
My point was I wouldn't get so hung up about it. Just go and do something else. I suppose it's that feeling of "being part of something new" that people are hooked on.Why?
Surely when that day comes - you should take a moment to congratulate yourself and having sorted your life out rather well?
Now, if you were to wake up in a ditch with your pants round your ankles with a gift wrapped Zune in your pocket with Ballmer's buisness card pinned to it - THAT would be the day to start contemplating lifestyle changes.
Friday, March 25. iPad 2 will be available at Apple retail stores and select Apple Authorized Resellers at 5 p.m. local time, and online through the Apple Store® (www.apple.ca) beginning at 1 a.m PDT.
Suggested retail price in Canada is $519 (CAN) for the 16GB model, $619 (CAN) for the 32GB model, $719 (CAN) the 64GB model. iPad 2 with Wi-Fi + 3G will be available for a suggested retail price of $649 (CAN) for the 16GB model, $749 (CAN) for the 32GB model and $849 (CAN) for the 64GB model.

How come I ordered mine the first day, and still don't have the damn thing....
I've paid for mine already why do people that haven't as of yet paid for there iPad get to have thiers I'm just outraged at this.
I know I'm complaining it's because I've never felt F'd by Apple before. I'm handicapped, and can't stand inline for hours/days.

This is one of three threads I have ever voted negative on. If you can't supply the initial country, how are you going to supply all of these? I am not one to believe the 'hoarding' concept that everyone else has complained of but this even has me suspicious. I know we are not the only country to get it but if you can't take care of the one that your company chooses to release it to first, how do you take care of all the others?
The only positive of this might be a few less scalpers since the device will now be available in some of the overseas places where they are being resold now. Hopefully this will help those who have been to Apple stores over and over again only to be let down because of the same few people buying over and over again to resell.
Some people get hooked on sunsets, some on food, some on falling cherry blossom - people here are generally hooked on exciting new tech.
Popeye206 said:If its anything like the botched launch in the US with the long waits, the other countries will be waiting a LONG LONG TIME.
James
Botched Launch? You have got to be kidding?
I guess they could have sold NONE and just waited two months until they had several million made to fill the initial demand?
I'm sure Moto wishes they had such a "Botched launch" of the Xoom! LOL!
but do you think that really matters to a person who waited in line for hours and didn't get one (for the record, I did get one.) Or for the Person that preordered at 1:01am and still hasn't received one? Or for the person that has lined up every single day since then and still hasn't received one?
If I were that person I wouldn't care if Apple had sold 30 million. All I would care about is that I have been struggling extremely hard to get one and I still haven't.
Argh, I meant to type 5pm, in reference to the bricks-and-mortar availability locally. You haven't answered the question. Is Apple Canada opening at 1Am eastern time or pacific time? They can't stagger the launch of a single website.
That's what local time means.
If you live in Iran, 1am where you are, princess. If your boyfriend lives in Madagascar, 1am for he is.
And if you live in a country with multiple time zones like Canada, 1am local time is different for people in Toronto and Vancouver. Makes sense? Or do we need to give more examples?
I ordered this minutes after launch on March 11... It's shipped late and has been vacationing in HK for damn near a week...
