8.0.2 and this. Apple is on the mend again![]()
Apple's fitness tracking app is indeed called Health. However, the underlying API allowing it, and other developers' apps, to access health-related data is called HealthKit.
Im still waiting for the home automation apps they promised
It's not terrible. If anything I wish you could just hide the charts on the dashboard and show only the heading with today's numbers for that particular data.

Any one try the argus app? it was updated today (think for health kit) but it just locks up when I launch it. If i double click the home button and launch it again it locks the whole phone for 30 about seconds. The widget is cool though.
Also the fitbit app does not seem to be able to access the M8 processor now..
how does it exactly work for calorie? do you have to enter what u ate?
now we need a google glass which will see what u r eating (and then show adverts on the fly!)![]()
I'm an outdoor stair runner. I love the fact that the health app can count flights of stairs run per day. Maybe that will start a trend of people running outdoor stairs![]()
Works for me (iPhone 6, 128GB) but no Health integration.

There's about 60 different types of data which it can track, from Vitamin C intake to Blood Alcohol Content. You can enter calories manually if you wish (I did just for the mockup), but apps will add that data for you.
For example, MyFitnessPal allows you to scan the barcode of a food item and (when the app is finally updated to access HealthKit) will add a bunch of data such as calories, fat, sugar, vitamins to Health.
nike move needs to push an update now please!![]()

Yes, it would be really great though if it could differentiate between actually climbing stairs and taking the elevator. It tells me that I climbed 12 floors on Wednesday. I most definitely didn't. I climbed 3. All the rest was the elevator.

That's pretty odd, unless you were jogging in the elevator![]()

Will the health kit know how many steps i have taken without a special third party app? I have taken several steps this morning, and nothing shows up.
Edited to add: After searching, I see iPhone 5 isn't capable of this. Darn.
I certainly didn't. Like I said, it can't tell the difference between stairs and the elevator.
It's also quite annoying that it creates a large number of datapoints per minute for walking. When I take a long walk, I'd like to ideally see a single datapoint for it at the end, because I would actually like to see how much I walked and not a few hundred data points for 10m each.
Did anyone else have the previous steps and activity deleted with the update?
