It’s not the same. OG iTunes Match replaces your music with non-DRM versions. Apple Music replaces all of your music with DRM versions that you’ll lose access to when you stop paying.
That’s why I still pay $25/year for iTunes Match.

This is incorrect. I say this from experience because I've tested this specifically. If you download a song from Apple Music it's DRMed. If you match an mp3/aac version of the same song then it matches with the version from the iTunes store (i.e. not DRMed). You can mix and match both within the same library. If you're paying for AM and iTunes Match you're wasting money.

There is not a suitable option for me. I prefer TIDAL and won't use Arcade or Fitness but I use Apple News+, Apple TV+, and iCloud. What I have now is less expensive than the top option and the middle options lacks what I need. Pass and PASS!

I'm on a 2TB data and Family Music plan.

I'm curious if Apple will continue to offer TV+ at no cost to those of us upgrading our iPhones. (as has been the case) - Because even if you like the TV - it's one less service that you really need in the Premier plan.

I guess, if TV remains free to people who purchase/upgrade hardware - then I'll need to see what the middle tier bundle cost is with upgraded storage.

We’re already paying £17.50 for music and storage so £2.50 for ATV+ and Arcade thrown in is surprisingly good value for our family. Even more so if we want to add News and Fitness+ for another £10. Surprised.

I still have a legacy iTunes account that I have many purchases tied too, and a separate iCloud account for all the personal stuff. Anyone know how Apple One work with this in the context of a family plan? Right now the iTunes account is the one that shares purchases (and Apple Music) but the iCloud account has the 2TB storage backup. Thanks for the help!

With a lot of kids now back to school (virtual or otherwise), I would think a lot of families would be looking to reduce screen time going forward, not increasing it. This seems odd timing for a bundle plan push.

Apple finally found a way to get me to sub to Apple News+. I was already paying $30/mo for family music, storage and arcade. Now I can add Apple News, TV+, and Fitness for the same price. Incredible value for people already spending $20+/mo.

I can understand individual users that weren't subscribing to a lot of services already being hesitant. The way apple sends out email receipts for each individual service makes it easy to forget what it all adds up to. I'll still do it, but $30 each and every month is a lot!

Does Premier apply to the entire Family? That is a steal if so
Yes, and agree. I pay $22 for music + icloud for me/wife/kids. I can pay $8 more for 2TB instead of 450GB a la carte icloud storage (that's huge), plus News, TV, and Arcade. I'm paying more, yes, but I'll take the deal. Also keeps us using bottom tier iPhone storage models and keeping a bit of cash in pocket that way.

My family is already on the 2TB iCloud plan, using a little over 300GB, so the family plan doesn't have enough storage. I don't want fitness or news. What am I supposed to subscribe to?
These plans would be fine if the storage tiers had 5x to 10x the space.

Yeah I wish the $20 plan had more storage, that's where they force you into the next level up. Kinda sucks I don't necessarily want News, Fitness, etc. You could buy individual 200GB plan(s) for people and maybe come out ahead if you don't need the extras.

I thought the same thing so I got rid of iTunes Match. A month later I wanted to make a CD (yes, my car still uses those) so I picked some songs and downloaded them. I wasn't allowed to burn them to CD because I didn't "own" them, they belonged to Apple Music.

A third of library now belonged to Apple Music. The reason seems to be that I didn't have a device or computer that had the music on them. I had deleted my music on my computer because I needed the space. So Apple Music took ownership of the songs since I didn't seem to own them.

I contacted Apple and I resubscribed to iTunes Match to regain ownership of my music. Thus, I am the edge case that needs both Apple Music and iTunes Match.

Hmm, I'm currently getting Apple Music ($8.33/mo billed yearly)
and an iCloud 2TB plan ($9.99/mo), together that's $18.32.
I'm tempted by Workouts+, that's $6.67/mo billed yearly.
That would total $24.99.
So, Premier gets all that...
... and adds TV+, Arcade, and News+ for $5/mo total.
That doesn't seem too bad. If Workouts+ is worth it to me.

Would be nice if they had a non-Family Premier plan at a slightly lower price.

$20 for 200GB for the entire family is NOT enough. Each member of my family would need 200GB each at least (tones of photos, documents and other stuff. So no, unfortunately $30 is a lot
