Been on with Apple Support for over an hour and still no further forward as to why my existing iCloud Storage isn't working any more.

They also don't know what email address I should use to subscribe as they don't know what will happen depending on billing cycles, Family Sharing and the current moon cycle*

Was your subscription active when you signed up for the bundle? Apple will only keep your library for so long if you cancelled.
No. cancelled music earlier this year. But pretty sure I have purchased music in the past. And Listen Now is recommending music based on what I was listening to or added to my library, in the past. So it’s not like I’m starting out as a new user.

Is that true? DRM on stuff not in their catalog?? Doesn’t make sense
No, that's not true. Only songs and videos added directly from Apple Music have DRM. Not the matched songs, whether or not they are in the Apple Music catalog.

Wow. Is this true? I was gonna cancel Match and get Apple Music because all these comments saying Match is included in Apple Music.
I've been in contact with Apple support about this for about 1 year.

When my iTunes Match subscription expired with an active Apple Music subscription, some matched songs disappeared, dozens matched songs stopped playable, thousands matched songs lost their match (no cloud status), hundreds of matched songs became Apple Music (some have never been on digital platforms, such as recorded live, rare tracks ...) it’s very funny to see the details of a song, with date added to the library in the early 2000s and says it belongs to Apple Music ... A nightmare that does not end!

It doesn't. It's billed separately.
You are double paying then because it is indeed included in Apple Music starting from day 1 of Apple Music. You can elect to continue with a separate subscription to it if you wish (although I don't know why you would) but it *IS included in AP.

„If you have applied the iCloud storage included in Apple One to the Apple ID you use for iCloud then buy additional iCloud storage later, the storage included with Apple One will be moved back to the Apple ID you use for media subscriptions.“

Why, just why, Apple... taking away the possibility of buying extra storage for your longest customers, whom never had the chance to merger their two IDs...
The URL you indicated in your post is something i did and have been on the phone/chat trying to get it to actually work for the past 2 hours, NOONE at Apple knows whats going on - fun times

I think the best way to deal with subscriptions is to decide what you actually want. Then see what the cheapest combination is.
For me I want iCloud storage + Netflix + Music. I get Netflix and Pandora for free via family with family plans, so iCloud storage is just $3 shared between my wife and I.

If I didn't get Netflix for free I would probably still pay for it as the wife watches a lot of stuff on there. I'd probably go with Apple Family too as I'm all in with Apple, $2/m more for TV+ and Games sounds reasonable.

You just need to not get carried away with subscriptions. I ditched Amazon Prime as you still get free shipping, so unless you really need next day delivery and use it a lot, it's not worth it. iCloud storage is really worth it if you make use of secure video. Personally $36/yr to never have to worry about losing my data is more than worth it.

Yet it went over your head. It’s included but only if Apple Music has it. Anything unique and not in Apple Music that u upload you need iTunes Match.
This is definitely not the case. I have Apple Music only (not iTunes Match) and lots of mix CDs ripped and uploaded that are not available on Apple Music.

Doesn't seem to be much reason to go Premier yet until Fitness comes out (and it's actually something I want to keep).

But Family gives me appletv and arcade and no additional cost (was paying for 200gb iCloud and family music already), so that's nice!

I read fitness is also available seperately

I am unable to subscribe. It says my payment information needs to be verified and it will not let me do so. Smh
When that happened to me, I had to go to cellular for some reason. Even on iTunes, I got the error on Wi-Fi. Had to connect through my hotspot for it to work.

Unless I am missing something, One won;t do me much good. I pay $4.99 for ATV+, $8.25 for the year pre-paid Apple Music and $.99 for 50GB of iCloud storage. The only thing I would get would be Arcade which I wouldn't really use anyway. So am I missing something on the individual plan? Thanks.
No, individual isn't too much worth it if you don't want everything

So has anyone figured our when it keeps your previous iCloud? I know if you get Premier it keeps 2TB but it killed my 50GB. What does it do if you had the middle one? And what does it do if you got Individual or Family to your existing iCloud?

That was convenient :) A new article was there when I went back to the main page:

Some get refunds. Others aren’t getting them to show up. It’s a roll of the dice what happens.

OK I finally got it to work. Be warned the price is not prorated. I literally just had my Apple Music payment come off my Apple Card yesterday and I was charged full price today for the bundle.
I would expect them to eventually catch up to this and refund the remaining portion. Or at least so I would hope.

So, I have Apple Music through Verizon. I don't want to pay for Apple Music as part of the Apple One subscription due to my existing free subscription... Has anyone heard if Apple has a way to handle this?
You can also call Verizon and have them adjust you to a different plan with the same data but without the Apple Music.

I found this out when I finally switched over to an unlimited plan, and already had Apple Music as a family plan for my GF and I, and Verizon was able to to remove the Apple Music from a higher tier “Unlimited” plan to give me better data package for the same cost as the lower one with Apple Music bundled in.

People don’t realize that the Apple Music in Verizon or others plans aren’t really “free”. You are paying it with an extra cost bundled in.

Hmm.. so essentially with iTunes Match Apple allows for you to upload your non-drm file and download that file as non-drm as well. With Apple Music Apple allows you to upload your non-drm file but when you download it, it gives you a DRM version even if that file is not offered as part of Apple Music. They convert your NON-DRM to DRM and give it back to you unless you pay them not to do that. LOL
I’m not sure how they would DRM some of the stuff I’ve uploaded like live music I got off SoundCloud or downloaded from YouTube.

No. You can literally watch the Music app upload the tracks to Apple Music. I've got some random live recordings, rare b-sides. Stuff that has never been offered on a digital platform.
Well I spoke to another Apple Support person who said if you have Apple Music you don’t need iTunes Match. I cancelled it so I’ll see if I lose anything when the subscription ends.

Good. But I have a legal question: Is there any possibility of this being declared anticompetitive against other streaming services of music, or video, or games?
If this is illegal, I would like someone to look at the super-coercive Verizon FIOS bundle, in which its cheaper to get everything than just buy what you actually want to use.

I signed up for Apple One and am trying to change the iCloud storage from my iTunes account to my iCloud account. But I keep getting a message that "Apple ID Locked. Your Apple ID has been locked for security reasons. To unlock it, you must verify identity." When I tap to "unlock account" it says "Cannot reset password. This Apple ID is either not valid or not supported."

It is an iCloud account I use every day. It is not locked. I tested signing in on multiple devices.

Anyone else getting this or have a solution?
I got this once, tried again and it let me log in the second time.

No, iCloud storage cannot be used for backups of Mac devices (if that's what you mean when you say HD), only iOS devices.
Right to be clear it won't back up an entire Mac HD, but on the Mac if you select System Prefs -> Apple ID -> iCloud -> iCloud Drive -> Options you can select your Desktop and/or Documents folders to sync across multiple Macs and of course have backed up to the cloud. This is in case the poster was talking about documents when they said HD.

I thought I wasn't going to be interested in this, but for an extra £2 per month I'd get Apple Arcade and Apple TV+ so it's definitely worth considering.

I wish the iCloud offering in the mid tier had been slightly higher. 200GB is probably just about OK for me and my wife, but for the people who have, potentially, 5 family members using the one plan I could see that getting eaten up after no time at all.

I'm going to hold back for a bit as I'm not really all that interested in Apple Arcade (my wife might be, though, I'll have to ask her).

The real sticking point for me is the lack of new AppleTV hardware. Once that's released and I can buy one to use with the OLED TV in my lounge then Apple One will be a no brainer. But until then, even though I've got an AppleTV HD in my kitchen, I'm going to wait it out...
What does the current AppleTV lack that you want? It's 4K, HDR enabled. Yes I'm sure they'll release an updated one at some point but what functionality does it lack that you want?

Anyone know what happens when you sign up and you already paid for Apple Music for a year?

is there any way to get a bundle if I'm already sharing Apple Music with my brother, but don't want to share icloud photos or files? does it keep each family members icloud data separated but still uses the 2tb for everybody?

I have the same situation here. Probably just cheaper to keep my free Apple Music on the Verizon plan and continue to pay for the rest. I got Arcade free for 3 months with the iPhone 12. I was told by Apple support yesterday to wait and cancel the paid version the day before renewal then sign up for the free 3 months.
