Or something curtain-related. Not so interesting.

Unless you're interested in curtains.

Of course. I remember someone mentioning this on here before.

The iCurtain.

Curtains with built-in Airport (and a few usb ports too). You can dock your iPod with your iCurtains and upload new tunes to them. When you open or close the curtains you can choose to have them play you a music track.

Or or... set them to open automatically at a certain time of the and play music - like a cool alarm clock. ;)

I bet Apple are moving into furnishings. We might have the iDesk, the iTable or the iSofa.... yes the iSofa. With a built in dock for your ipod on the arm?

PowerBook and iBook Delivery Times Getting Longer

The UK Apple Store has increased delivery times for iBooks (3 days) and the 15" and 17" PowerBooks (up to 3 weeks!). Is this the usual sign of things to come? Intel, blu-ray, movie making powerhouses?

We've all lost the plot (iPlot) :)

not in the US, iBooks are 1-3 days, powerbooks 1-2 days for all models

This might be a sign that they are letting stocks run out though, surely there would have been news of supply shortages if the 15" Superdrive (2-3 weeks) was really taking this long to ship.

Now that's odd..
Think Secret and Apple Insider BOTH of whom were/are the target of leaking secrets from Apple posting two different types of releases?

either both are wrong or one is wrong or both are right?

I don't buy TS's predictions, and still believe it's gonna be only the vidPod and the iTMS Movie Store...I hope I am wrong anyway...we'll see..!

I think that the ThinkSecret article has a point- I'd be suprised if Apple chose to release 5G iPods so close to the Nanos, which have been so heavily marketed...

If a new release is based around Airport technology, could Apple be releasing a media hub? With wireless technology becoming more and more popular, there is more demand for a consumer's digital content to be available to every computer in the house. It could be something like a harddrive with wireless capability.

Does anyone else see Apple doing this? I've not been on here much in the last couple weeks so I don't know how plausable this would be in light of Apple's plans...

I think its something non iPod related as people have seen enough for the mean time with the Nano....

Its definatly the announcement of some new macs probably a full pro-range revamp along with display's and maybe a new airport express....

...or Steve has a hunch the leak is one of two people. He gives each a different story to see where they get leaked too and the 'event' on the 12th is the unveiling of the iGuillotine!

It's pretty cool. It's a little slower than guillotines from other manufacturers but looks fantastic.....until you use it once!

Don’t believe me? I have a friend whose friend works for a haulage company where one of his colleagues was shipping some Ben & Jerry’s ice cream to this guy in another office where he spoke to the kid who delivers the mail who saw it in it’s box in a lift. He’d have taken a photo but he’s not into Apple stuff! :(

BBC tv centre

Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but just heard on BBC Radio that Apple are to annouced the new video iPod at BBC tv centre in UK on 12th October. Don't think they have ever used tv centre as a venue before so maybe there is a tv show download thing happening as well. The radio report said there would be video bundles available to download from iTMS.

Wouldn't that be the 11th in the states? Making the media event in San Jose on the 12th the 13th in the UK.

<edit> nevermind.Widgets are actually good sometimes!! 10AM US is 5PM UK on the 12th

I could have got the date wrong as i was in a state of shock when i heard them say it

I'm just reading tea leaves here but I agree with you...there are big pieces missing from the current stack of iTunes offerings. So you've got a Mac or two, an Airport Express or two, and an iPod. It is still quite inconvenient to play the music throughout the home or to share your music files with the whole family.

I am picturing an Apple Media Center that would be, essentially, a Sonos + Tivo. 200GB storage, video out to TV, Wireless-G and with an LCD remote control, accompanied by an updated Airport Express (hopefully backwards compatible with a firmware upgrade) to permit Sonos-style streaming music to ALL rooms in the home simultaneously. The key would be to be able to play iTunes to the stereo from the LCD remote, without having to turn on the Mac. Connects to iTMS for movie downloads.

Which Radio show? BBC usually puts up their radio shows online, so maybe we could all have a listen... And why the BBC when the invitation says San Jose? Are they using multiple venues?
