Oh please let this be the announcement of the dual-core Power Mac G5s! I have waited this long and I really hope it pays off.

Yeah, great, ipods are pretty much the only things keeping apple in business, but seriously, do we really need ANOTHER ipod update? the ipod is a healthy, well updated line while the computer division of "Apple Computer" seems to have gathered dust.
I need a new powerbook and I know 2 other co-workers who are itching to buy new powerbooks as soon as they come out... Sadly though, the only powerbooks you can get are under-powered well aged models.

Applespider said:The trouble with the nano is that it only satisfies the 70% of people who want a 1000 songs or so. There's nothing new and exciting for the holiday market to buy at the $300 mark... hence, why they keep the Nano buzz and almost reinvigorate it with a new 5G iPod? Imagine all those articles contrasting the two - the Nano gets another burst of activity on the back of the new one.
This is the time of year to introduce consumer devices. So far, Apple have kept ahead of the curve in iPod design. The competition are creating some better looking, nicely features lines at the top end of the market; it's time for Apple to leapfrog them again - just before the holiday season when there's no time for them to react and yet another tranche of the MP3-buying public end up with iPods
