This is an S year and I have an iPhone X. The $1000+ that I spent all those years ago has served me well. The iPhone X still holds up to this day and I have come to the conclusion that the features mentioned in the iPhone 13 just aren't compelling enough for me to upgrade from the X to the 13. Maybe next year, when it is rumored that Apple will finally ditch the FaceID sensor and integrate TouchID into the display and remove the notch and bring along ProMotion to the rest of the phones, will it make for a more compelling reason to upgrade....

So, for those wanting to kill time and waiting for the store to open up - consider watching Ken Burns' excellent documentary "The National Parks: America's Best Idea." It's pretty great. Watching Episode 1 at the moment.

I'm keeping my 12 Pro blue as the 13 is hardly an improvement. Smoke and mirrors this year from Apple.

Enjoying only paying £20 per month contract as well. Those network jokers will be charging £100+ per month no doubt.

My advice... have both ready. And update your contact and payment information NOW just to be safe.

Last year at the launch of the iPhone 12 Pro Max... I had both the app and the website ready at 8am.

The website was a disaster... it didn't open until about 10 minutes later. And the app was slow to load, too.

But I eventually placed my order in the app... and I got my confirmation email at 8:15am

The app was asking me to confirm my credit card 3-digit code. I missed it when I first made my order... so it kept kicking me out. And I didn't know why. But it eventually went through.

Good luck!
Again - what gives you the impression there is going to be a surge of demand? You’ll be just fine ordering whatever you want. Trust me.

man, I am more excited for the Mac event. Macs are more interesting now than iPhones and iPads.

Really keen for the next Mac chip.
Same.

I’m still using my 15” 2013 rMBP on Mojave. I didn’t intend to keep it this long, but I kept holding back due to what was available.

I was never buying the one with the dodgy keyboard, and then when that was finally abandoned word spread re: Apple silicon, so that delayed my purchase. I was close to buying an M1 MBP last year but held off as I knew this years would be WAY more than just a huge CPU bump.

I’m hoping this will be a huge update of chassis, screen and ports and intend to go big - 32gb ram, 2TB SSD - because I fully intend to have it for 7+ years again.

The australian Apple webpage is correct but the app has a bug. Instead of 10pm it’s showing up as 1 pm… 😬

Yeah thanks for taking it down before I had a chance to update my payment info. Oh well I can do it pretty quick

I have an Apple Store gift card to use. Does it mean I can only pre-order through website? Or will the app also let me use it?
Make sure you use the Check out option in the cart, instead of using the Apple Pay option on the app. This will let you use your gift card balance, and then pay off the remaining amount with your credit card if need be. Tested the method earlier with iPad mini preorders and it worked. GL!

Indeed they will, especially if you go direct too!

Don't understand the many "good lucks" in this thread. Why?
Is it gonna be that hard to preorder? Gonna go oos in minutes?

It''s an iPhone not a limited coin from the USMint.

psa: Walmart gives you $100 discount with no activation needed.
For some reason they want to act like this is some major supercycle upgrade when it clearly isn’t. The phones will sell well over time as they always do, but this particular model will not see crazy demand on preorder day. Plenty of stock for everyone who wants it.

is it better to pre order through the app or website?

I would use the app. Last time the website did not refresh for me for 5 mins (might have been some cache issues, though I opened it in private mode as well) and by the time a lot of configurations where already sold out for launch day delivery while the App was live immediately.
