Again - what gives you the impression there is going to be a surge of demand? You’ll be just fine ordering whatever you want. Trust me.

Because it's an iPhone launch? :p

Because shipment dates usually slip into October shortly after pre-ordering begins?

Because this year ALL iPhones are open for pre-ordering on day one... whereas last year there were two launches split between October and November?

Because there were so many people last year who said "meh, I'll wait for the next one" so they'll be primed for this year?

Because there are still tons of people who have iPhone 8, X and XS and are finally ready to upgrade?

Etc...

Look... I hope you're right about low demand. But more often than not there tends to be huge demand on launch day.

That's why people are saying to get in early if you want to be in the first round of shipments. But I guess we'll see.

Tomorrow the headlines will either be "Apple is Doomed... iPhone Experiences Low Demand" or they'll be "iPhone Shipments Slip Into November"

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Apple do my head in sometimes. What if you want to buy something that isn’t an iPhone? Tough. You have to wait four hours while we intentionally keep the store closed so that iPhone 13 buyers can feel important 🙄
I bought my first mac coincidentally on the day the first iPad came out. Was super excited for the computer so I went at opening, when I arrived there was a ton of people and iPad graphics everywhere, walked straight up to the front of the line and asked if I could buy a computer. I got a lot of weird looks from both the workers and the (many) that lined up for an iPad. To their credit though they did wrangle up somebody on the clapping line to help me.

Don’t get the excitement about this year’s iPhones but ok. 😂 It’s a bit like more of the same. And even the new Pro color is worse in comparison to last year’s.

With the 1K verizons offering me for the 12 its a cool $100 for that and everything else.

This year iPhone has nothing especially new or groundbreaking, so the demands should be as usual.

Macrumors has had a lot of complaining about lack of promotion over the last two years (especially when Android got it), particularly on the iPad boards. I suspect the "so boring" "this sucks" is a vocal minority.

I’m upgrading from an iPhone 6 Plus with a 16GB storage.

I decided on the 128GB 13 Pro Max in Graphite. It’ll certainly be a significant upgrade for me.
Oh man. 1 GB ram —-> 6 GB ram. You’ll feel that for sure.

get ready for the abundance of threads made :):

'My order didn't go through'

'order went through but didn't get confirmation'

'I ordered wrong type, how do I change?'

'price seems wrong, anyone else getting this?'

'getting errors, anyone else getting this?'

'I got this iphone, anyone else get it?'

'delivery is x days, seems wrong, anyone else getting this?'

'I am overjoyed, anyone else the same?'

'the app keeps crashing, anyone else getting this'

'Order successful, anyone else successful'

I am sure i have missed out many others 😀

I’m getting a Graphite iPhone 13 Pro 1 TB. What are you getting???

Yeah... and "demand as usual" tends to mean "ship date slips into October"... :p

I just Googled "iPhone __ ship date slips" and found many articles going back many years. 12, 11, XS, X, etc.

Launch day delays do happen.

Yes... the iPhone 13 isn't radically different than the iPhone 12. But the iPhone 11 wasn't radically different than the iPhone XS... but the 11 still had ship dates slipping until October.

People here are asking the best way to pre-order immediately at launch. I'm sticking with my advice from earlier: don't wait. Get your info updated and be ready. It can't hurt.

The last thing I want is for someone to hear "don't worry" and then they can't get a phone until next month.

:)

Why. The iPhone 13 is not that much different than the 12. Sticking a few upgrades here and there and calling it an "upgrade" is just dumb.

The earth would stop spinning and wars would break out because people, who could easily go for years without a new phone cant get a new one on launch day. This is being treated world-changing occurrence and that is the real tragedy. Chill - get the phone whenever you can and get your sleep.

Last year, I upgraded from a 16GB 6S to a 12 Pro.

The difference was dramatic.

Aside from everyday use, the time to do an IOS update became entirely acceptable. The time to update satnav maps dropped from ten minutes or so to a few seconds.

Also, I hadn't realised quite how much difference the absolute performance would make to my ordinary usage.

Do I wish it had Touch ID? Yes.

But I believe it’s time I get a 5G device. I plan on preordering a 13 ProMax (VzW Network).

I understand if people have older iphones and want to upgrade but those that have an iphone 12? why? just why?, is the minor differences in the two models realy worth it?

there is steeper increase in price in 256gb-512gb tier... so I think 256 this year would be also enough (as previous 4 years from iP X)

it's some kind of a life changing event.
That money leaving bank accounts every fall can be life changing depending on the size of the bank account.

I'm also on VzW. At first, 5G was kinda meh and not really noticeable. It has improved big time over the last year. You will be pleased.
