iPad 2 im hoping will be a smashing success. My original iPad sits in my drawer (replaced by my Macbook Air) and I had a pre-released Xoom that I absolutely loved (though it felt a bit unfinished its potential is amazing.) I'm hoping Apple will step up on this one.

I want Thunderbolt!!!!! Maybe super-quick connection with the new MacBook Pros?

I like the mockups. There's a better shot on engaget showing how thin it is compared to the old (current for a few more hours) iPad.

Where's the thunderbolt port :D

Don't count on a free MobileMe. I just got a invoice this morning from Apple for my renewal and a separate email thanking me for renewing MobileMe.

What unfortunate timing for you! :)

I got my 'renew MobileMe in 30 days' notice yesterday. I really don't think they'd be telling folks right now - " No need to re-up now, it'll be free next week!". Even if it were true, it'd ruin the surprise. I'm hoping refunds will be forthcoming. We'll find out soon...

Plus, usually the store goes offline as soon as they announce the product... Not HOURS before the keynote... That was at least my observation of previous events...

That means they probably had a lot tweaking to do...

These emails are automated, so that doesn't mean that they won't change anything with MobileMe.

I also find it a bit strange that the Applestore went down so soon. Maybe it is just a coincidence...

So from all this, it looks like (at least) pre-order capability will be available before the end of the week. Question is, with all the last minute talk about "don't expect the moon" and an even bigger iPad upgrade later this year, is this really the one to grab?

I mean, all I ever cared about or thought was despicably lacking was a front-facing camera. What else could they possibly add (besides a full retina display)?

I'm jumping on board. All I really thought was missing was the front cam and now i get a thinner form factor and bump in processor and ram. I'm happy.

So what if iPad 3 comes out this fall? you have 2 options.
1) if you're on here enough, you'll know about it in advance and be able to sell iPad 2 in prep to buy iPad 3
2) just ENJOY your iPad 2 and get iPad 4 and skip the 3rd gen. A lot of the 1st Gen peeps are waiting for 3, if you get 2, wait for 4!

my prediction:

iPad 2:
-Facetime App
-PhotoBooth App
-Camera App
-2 Cameras
-2 Versions- GSM + CDMA and Wi-Fi Only
-(maybe 3): GSM, CDMA, and Wi-Fi Only
-A5 Chip (1.2 GHZ)
-Improved Display (maybe retina but doubt it)- not necessarily resolution
-iOS 4.3
-32 GB, 64 GB, 128 GB
-512 MB or 1 GB RAM (1GB if improved display)
-Black Carbon Fiber Body (maybe white as well)
-Maybe Steve Jobs (facetime most likely or short appearance)
-MobileMe
-maybe thunderbolt

One more thing...
-White iPhone 4
-White iPad 2
-apple tv facetime?
-video call to england (i mean the event they are having at the BBC center- the live video of the california event)
-free/updated MobileMe
