If you mean "replaced by costumers for a newer iPhone" than I very much doubt that.
The 5s is the phone bought by people who just NEED to have the newest&best every year, so that quite a number to start with. This is also why I would guess that average margins is much higer here as more people are willing to spend on the 32 and 64GB models, spending 100 or 200$/Euro for an upgrade that costsouth of 50$.
People buying the 5c are most likely casual users who won't buy a new phone before the old one breaks.
Even if you meant "replaced by Apple next year", I'd guess that the 5c will be moved to the bottom slot and stay available there for quite a while.
Says the guy who has just gotten his 1st SmartPhone, a slightly used 5 with 64GB + a semi-unlimited non-binding contract at 9.95Euro/month![]()
I meant replaced as in not used anymore at all. An iPhone's typical life involve being handed down or sold used. Perhaps even two or three times until it hits that final drop or just is not worth opening up and replacing the battery. So I'm guessing these 5cs will have shorter lifespans than the 5ss. But this won't necessarily be dictated by the folks buying them on launch day. I agree those folks are flipping their phones at least every two years.
