Apple Opens Pre-Orders for Apple Watch Series 8, Second-Generation SE, and Ultra

The dark trail loop order was Oct 23-29th. I cancelled order and went with a different loop for Sept 23rd.
I saw that too -- the Ocean Loop and Alpine Loop deliver Sep 23rd. Apparently the Trail Loop is going to take an extra month. Crazy.

Got a launch day for once! Finally (in Australia)

Forgot which solo band size I was, and got slipped into 3-4 weeks shipping! These are going fast and/or supplies are limited.

Annoyed. I wasn't fast enough. I was way too undecided. I thought the ultra was ugly and no color options turned me off from that. I wanted space black stainless but i wasn't spending $1300 for a hideous Hermes band. I finally went with graphite stainless with a sport band for $749. Sept 29-Oct 6 Womp Womp.

Just got the Ultra Orange Alpine for delivery on 23rd. Any idea on sizing MacRumors compared to older straps? Took a punt from an old measuring tape.

According to the fine print on Apple’s website:

“You can match most bands with any Apple Watch Series 3 or newer case of the same size. The 41mm bands work with 38mm and 40mm cases; the 45mm bands work with 42mm, 44mm and 49mm cases.

I took that to mean that previous bands are compatible with the Apple Watch Ultra, so I ordered one.

That’s…uh…fast?

Not giving anyone time to do a try-on with the Apple Watch Ultra then?

I really want one but I’m gonna wait until next year. My Series 4 is still doing well, though the battery is getting shorter. Not bad yet, but will probably be getting there in a year.
Free returns. I know I ordered one of every band to get my own impression of them. Better then waiting for subjective hands on reviews and being pushed months back in the shipping queue.

Am I out of touch on the older prices, or is this thing actually cheaper than the outgoing titanium models? I don't think this is meant for me, but it's nice that people get something more than just case material for the extra cost.
Yeah, though this isn't quite for me, pretty cool of them to reduce the price while adding so much functionality.

I just talked with Verizon. He told me the Ultra is $599. He called it Verizon pricing. I plan to order. He gave me a different number that I must call to order. I will report back.

Apple went really hard this year on the Apple Watch. I think it’s the highlight of this event. The iPhone 14 kinda felt like an afterthought. I guess because all the features have been rumored and mostly predicted correctly.

Except for the dynamic island. that to me is a WOW feature.

I have a 12 pro Max so I will order the 14 version this week.

Both the Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch SE were announced today at the "Far Out" event. The Series 8 features a larger display that curves around the edges, a new body temperature sensor, improvements to battery life, and more.

The second-generation Apple Watch SE features the S8 chip, crash detection, and new color options. Both Apple Watch models are launching alongside a wide array of new bands as well, including new colors for Sport Loop and Nike Sport Loop.

Lastly, Apple announced the new Apple Watch Ultra, which has a 49mm titanium case with the brightest Apple Watch display yet, as well as a bigger Digital Crown. It features 36 hours of battery life, a new Dark Mode, a Wayfinder watch face, a built-in depth gauge, a new dual-frequency GPS, and much more.

Pricing for the Apple Watch Series 8 starts at $399 for GPS and $499 for cellular, and it's available in aluminum Midnight, Starlight, Silver, and Product(RED). Stainless steel options include Silver, Gold, and Graphite.

The SE starts at $249 for GPS and $299 for cellular. It's available in Silver, Midnight, and Starlight.

The Ultra starts at $799 and only has one sizing option, as well as only offering a cellular option. Apple has also introduced new bands aimed at hikers, divers, and runners, called the Alpine Loop Band, Ocean Band, and Trail Loop.

How come we can't purchase Apple Care + on an Apple Watch using Apple Monthly Installments? It gives option to "Check Out with Apple Card Monthly Installments" but won't let me check out because AppleCare+ is included.
