Annoyed. I wasn't fast enough. I was way too undecided. I thought the ultra was ugly and no color options turned me off from that. I wanted space black stainless but i wasn't spending $1300 for a hideous Hermes band. I finally went with graphite stainless with a sport band for $749. Sept 29-Oct 6 Womp Womp.
I don't think speed was an issue (of course I could be wrong). I couldn't find any cellular models available for 9/16.
Is there no new Nike watch?
No. Not like before. You could build your own though. I think the only thing that would be missing is the Nike engraving on the bottom? But now any Apple Watch will be an able to use the Nike watch faces.

Yep, pretty sure that's why they dropped the Nike Watch from the line-up.

Did anyone snag a model that included GPS & cellular (whether stainless steel where it's included or an aluminum model and you selected the option) to arrive on the 16th? Excluding the Ultra. I couldn't find a setup that would arrive on the 16th. I'm just posting now but I actually went to order right after the keynote so I can't imagine I was "late." The only options I could find that would arrive on the 16th was aluminum with GPS only. Need cellular though. Not the end of the world though lol. I ended up with est. 9/29 - 10/6.

Maybe I should specify 41mm lol. Just looking at other options and I see 45mm aluminum with cellular would arrive on the 16th.

I have had two stainless, the Series 5 and Series 6 that I am wearing now. Reading rumors I was pretty sure I wanted the larger watch and had a feeling it would be over $1k. When they said it was about the price of the stainless with a bigger display I was like yep, there we go.
Right!!! On one hand, I’m not complaining, because I totally thought the Ultra was going to be $1,000+, but on the other hand, most of the “heavy duty” features I will never use. And I really need to get use to the buttons sticking out.

I’m excited for something new, but I’m nervous at the same time.

Just ordered the Apple Watch Ultra Titanium Case with White Ocean Band deliveries Sept 23rd for my wife.
And for me the Apple Watch Ultra Titanium Case with Black/Gray Trail Loop deliveries OCTOBER 20-27th.... Both with AppleCare.
No NEW iPhone for us this year we'll both stick to the 12 ProMax, I don't like the idea of being sim-less.

Ordered ultra. My max price was $700, but it looks and has features actually better than I expected. Ultra with orange band, concerned about band sizing. Anyone have a good recommendation for band sizing without a tape measure. I’d like to see a sport loop comparison chart.. I’m a 7. come on apple, that would have been a no brainer

I did, but it’s in store pickup. I even did a custom style, 45mm graphite stainless steel S8 with the midnight sport loop, that I’ll pickup late morning on the 16th. For delivery it was Sept 29 - Oct 6. I’ll gladly go into the store if it means 2-3 weeks sooner.

I have just ordered the S8 45mm Midnight with Cellular for collection on 16/9.
I was not originally looking to order a new watch.
I will definitely be ordering the iPhone 14 Pro and Airpods Pro on Friday.

Not cellular but seems like it was particular to any 41mm. The only 41mm midnight case option I could find to ship on the 16th was the black sport band, that still seems to be the case now. Also I can't get any configuration for in-store pickup within like 50 miles of me, every store is unavailable. Just sticking out my original order with dates of 22nd - 29th and hopefully it comes sooner.

I just ordered the Ultra, as an out of shape couch potato, that ain't gonna help me, but I really wanted that flat bezel.

However, they should have incorporated some manner of solar charging like Citizen watches to give more of a boost while out on a sunny day.
That's because Citizen is a watch. This is a computer that you wear on your wrist that tells time. Completely different product.

Is there any reason to choose the 8th gen watch over the SE if you're not interested in the temperature sensor? I don't ovulate, and even if I did, I'm not wearing a watch while I sleep.

I THINK bigger screen, of course the Temp sensor (which I‘m pretty certain will soon be more than womens reproductive health enabled - like sickness, infection, covid, etc). If it were my FIRST AW device, I’d probably just go SE to try it out for $249

When are the cell carriers gonna have it for sale? I really dislike these new releases with immediate ordering. It gives no time for the carriers and consumers, they are incentivized to jump quick or risk not getting it for several weeks to months depending on the supply chain.

What I wouldn’t do for a stainless steel without cellular. So annoying that the body finish has anything to do with the radio. I can’t justify spending over $700 on something I don’t see the point of. The old space black stainless steel watches looked so great and for much less

Why would anyone order a 8th gen watch with ONLY 18 HOURS battery? Jesus people wake up! My Garmin has 34 DAYS battery life. Hours people. Everyone just as blind eyed every year. Complaining about battery life and still ordering a new one?
Don’t tell me, you drive an electric car, right? 😉

I have to wind the elegant mechanical watches in my collection. Go figure.

36 hrs on the Ultra is plenty.
