My local store is showing my config.
Does anyone think there will be an issue if I just return the original one and just pick one up?
I am paying full price for the phone, but I had them pre activate it.

I talked to Apple support and they said they newest expected delivery was the 30th so I am just going to do the pickup option. They said there should not be an issue with that

talked to apple and got it cancelled..will go to store and pickup

Doing the same. They said they couldn't cancel but could send me a return slip.

Me. Very frustrating. It’s not worth the hassle to cancel the iUP at this point.
I just placed a new IUP order (not upgrade) for pick up today. Apple chat started a return for my UPS limbo order and sent a return label for when it eventually gets delivered.

They also said to return my current IUP trade in using the kit that shipped with the UPS limbo order to close out that loan.

I must’ve gotten the only phone for my store because it’s not showing as available for pickup today anymore.

I cancelled the 2 unlocked versions I purchased via the online store but my shipping was Oct 1-7. My local store now has them in stock and I will be picking them up after work.

I can find all colors of Max Pro 512 GB over two hours away from me in Indianapolis including space grey I ordered and all colors except space grey two hours away in Chicago subburbs. Too damn far to drive for me so I will remain in the same exception hell as well. My Thats why I order nothing locally for me and I sure as hell gonna drive several hours and then find my phone gets held like some got with pickup in store orders.

I'm in the same boat, my model isn't available at any store near me. Hopefully we'll get a real delivery date estimate from Apple/UPS soon so I know whether or not to pick one up if one does become available.

It would be nice, given the snafu, if Apple would let us cancel instead of having to go through the return process.

I am on hold with Apple right now. I noticed that the Apple Care email said that coverage started 9/23 - as in today. Why should I be paying for what looks to be likely an entire week of coverage on a phone that I have not even seen yet? First guy said that that is generally how it works. My question is WHY? If I buy a phone at the Apple store, the Apple Care coverage starts when they hand me my phone. Why should I get one week less coverage just because my phone is held up in purgatory? I don't want to miss out on that last week number 52 of coverage.

When is the actual expiration date? My first month of coverage is actually a month and a few days, seems like Apple added a buffer for this.

Nope. My email said that the expiration date was 9/23/21.

The manager I just spoke with said that he is making case notes that say to extend my coverage for the extra week. We shall see. Hopefully I never need it, but I would hate to break my phone and have no recourse. I would guess that other people should call in an get that exception noted in their file as well.

Went to apple store friday. Bought phone on friday at 1200$ or what ever it was.

Returned saturday, returned phone. Asked if I could get on IUP, they said sure. Got phone on IUP. All on saturday.

Just texted apple dudes since i'm state side. They said they can initiate return. So I agreed to it. We'll see what happens. Eitherway, I have a phone on IUP right now and i'm happy.

Excuse me. Some of you don't seem to know how to read. I said class action. On behalf of a large number of people, not an individual. Don't bother to reply.
It's interesting you would choose to tell people they don't know how to read when your post shows you don't understand how law works.

Just calling something a class action does not mean you suddenly have a case when you did not before. There are no special "class action" laws that allow you to sue as a class when you couldn't sue as an individual. Class actions are done for expediency and cost purposes. In the instant case, you don't have a claim to start with, and attempting to start a class action does not change that.

And I'm sure you will tell me not to reply because I ruffled your feathers by explaining how you're wrong, and will continue to be wrong, and really are just making a complete ass out of yourself instead of meaningfully contributing to the discussion here, such as your reaction to the person whose friend has cancer.

Anyway, don't bother, because I don't really give a rip what you think about it, and I've already ignored you. So there. Na-na-na boo-boo.

Still in ZhengZhou for me. Unfortunately the Apple stores around me are all out of stock and my carrier is saying it wouldn't ship until 10/9, so no choice but to wait it out

Hey all, just wanting to give a HUGE shoutout to Apple. As someone with an Apple Store close, I went in, got the phone (on a new IUP Loan which doesn't matter because that is what happened with the one being shipped anyways) in 20 minutes tops (walk in, not reserved because it is tied but they had an abundance of stock anyways so I wouldn't worry). Called Apple and had my order that was shipped completely cancelled and they will redirect it back to them, issue the refund, still send the turn in kit and that loan will be completely closed no issue. Took no time at all and worked perfectly.

For those who want to do it, you could call first, have it cancelled and then go into the store to make the process a little cleaner.

Well done on the customer service side. I am thoroughly impressed. Something like this anywhere else would've either been not possible or take days to figure out.

Best of luck to the rest of you! Rooting for you!!

Status just changed again. I’m kicking myself as every day passes for not picking up at my nearest store. The phone I ordered was available too but it had prepared to ship so I decided just leave it.

Well, I checked all phone configurations I’m interested in and nothing is available in stock in the 12 closest stores to me.

So will have to wait this out. I have mixed feelings - I want my phone!!!...but I also hate the whole cancel/refund/repurchase process. So I guess I don’t have to mess with that.

same here and closest is 2 plus hours away, this is why i do iUP and online to be delivered. I believe I am now in year 5 of iUP, and out of those 5 only three have been good. Others stock gone after I got in, and later dates. this customs snafu might be the worise since the typhoon almost delayed my opening day X in Taiwan LOL

Be greatful you have one close, mine are all two hours plus from me (in Chicago and Indianapolis) and only the Indy store has all colors in AT&T 512 GB Pro Max including space grey I like and ordered. Chicago is mostly gold and silver not my favorite, and one store with midnight green. Just never feasible for us in east central Illinois. So I will just have to wait too much hassle and no time for me to take a 4-5 hour half day journey round trip to get one in stock plus hassle of canceling and such.

I just checked too - the 12 closest stores don't have what I want either. So I'll be here with you, waiting, waiting, waiting.

Everything is a mess right now. I wouldn't be surprised if everyone's stuff is out of China but just didn't get scanned, it happened with people that pre-ordered earlier.
But you got a scan for Incheon? If so what time?

I will be waiting with you. Stores 2 plus hours one way for my closest not worth the bother that would be half day and too late now, who knows if the Indy store that had all colors of 512GB AT&T pro max would have them. Now if store was near i might do it but not this far.
