Sounds like like a desperate single bloke ;) they all like him, he says all the right things, buys you stuff....but boring. Yup that's TC ;)

Jobs on the other hand would have been Charlie sheen from 2 and a half man ! Play it cool and get use them for what you need, but never get too close lol
[doublepost=1466183160][/doublepost]

Agreed. Problem is all those other countries know Tim Cook and apple are weak, and everyone is milking it at the moment.

TC will never take strong action, as long as there is profit in China , he will jump as high as he is told. He is great at maximising profit margins...but sometimes you need to be a ruthless dictator
Steve jobs is more like DARE program "just say no."

Only in China does a multi-billion dollar international company get halted by a knock-off producer. If China wants to be taken as a serious modern economy, they need to overhaul their IP law and culture.

Solution: Apple blocked in China...then BLOCK ALL CHINESE Phones in the US ;)

So okay, here's a question for everyone to ask themselves -- If the tables were turned, and it was the Chinese phone that was trying to get sold in the US, do you think that Apple would try to ban it ??

Yeah. I thought so.

Makes me wonder if perhaps this is the first salvo in an attempt to get an IP deal with Apple for the future (or at least a deal to not sue), in case Xiaomi and other Chinese phone makers want to sell their devices in the US.

Yeah but given the photo comparison, they other than shape they don't look anything alike.

It seems that you guys don't understand the connotation in cases like this. I believe that the U.S. government knows very well why China is doing like this. It's just some politic and trading problems.
As a Chinese, I'd like to tell you that this has nothing to do with Apple. Chinese government is just doing some revenges to the U.S. Government for not letting some chinese competitive companies spread in U.S.. For example, the Chinese company HuaWei has already passed Ericsson to be the world's first class producer of telecommunication facilities. HuaWei has successfully won the market in all of the European coutries and Australia. However, the company is banned by U.S. Government in Amercia because of its "potential safety problems". Obviously, the U.S. Government is on purpose because HuaWei works very well in other developed countries such as the U.K, France, Australia. This developed countries are not fool, if HuaWei has real "safety problems", they will just do as the U.S. Government. In fact, HuaWei has deep cooperation with all these countries except for Amercia. Maybe you will ask why the U.S. Government do this? The answer is very simple: they just want to protect their vulnerable local companies such as Sisco, which is less competitive than Ericsson, let about being compared with HuaWei.
So, the Chinese government is just doing the same thing to Amercia companies. For this case, I just want to say that Apple is really innocent. I love Apple and I have all my personal devices from Apple. The worst one is always the governemnt.

That would increase Apple's costs and reduce Apple's sales, I don't see how that is a good decision.

So much effort on making chinese teens happy, and look what happens.
And by staying still in the corrupt Chinese environs, China's Government will also make sure that Apple's costs increase drastically (because Apple has to keep paying for one-sided litigation stacked against them, or have to avoid it by paying bribes to the Communist magistrates) and reduction of sales (i.e. Beijing ban on iPhone sales).

Being calm and not losing your cool (Jobs lost his cool often) doesn't make you weak. May I remind you of how Jobs reacted to the first Samsung Galaxy phone? I give you the recent case for unlocking the iPhone 5C as an example, Apple very definitely stood up. Whether you agreed with them or you didn't it was not a weak position.

Yup. They are both rectangular. How dare Apple! Lol. Seriously?

Did you think the same when Apple produced some drawings in a court of law and claim Samsung infringed on it's patent for an oblong shape with round corners that was black or white in colour? Because that's exactly what they did...

What goes around comes around, and I'm sorry but with the BS claims Apple makes against it's competitors, it deserves to receive the exact same treatment it dishes out.
If this was in an American court and Apple bought the case it would be demanding an immediate ban on all their devices sold and billions of dollars worth of damages.

Everything about China makes me sick. Their way of dealing with anything foreign is disgusting, communist scum. They will never topple the might USA (I'm not even American)
You are so extreme....... I have met many foriegners and most my profesors in my institut are French and English, none of the speaks like this... It's so impolite. What Chinese government does has nothing to do with anything else about China. And cases like this happen almost everyday and it's not only in China. We all know that Apple is truly innocent. It's just the trading problem between U.S. and China. The U.S. Governement has done things like this too.

I don't understand what's the problem with "My country first". Here in Canada, some complain about "America First" down south, but why wouldn't you put your country first?

Whey I shop, I try (but often fail) to buy local, province, next province, Canada, US/Mexico, then anywhere. It is much easier with food than anything else.
I don't understand that either, but sadly in the UK being proud of your country is classed as racism. :(

another racist movement by china, they will do anything to kick foreign products out o their country

Good for them, maybe the companies will start to have their damn products made in there own home countries then!!! You know support their country of origin economies and employment levels. But no, they'll do anything they can to have their products produced as cheaply as humanly possible and avoid paying tax anyway they can.

I am amazed Western companies think they will be allowed to do business in China. How are CEOs who are looking at China as their "next biggest market" getting paid millions. They're obviously incapable of assimilating decades of experience that indicates otherwise.

Steve Jobbs wouldn't take this crap ! He would threaten to pull out manufacturing from China all together and move it to another country and give China the finger and walk away.

In regards to people asking to have these iDevices made in USA:

That's never going to happen.

1) American's can never produce the number of iDevices required to fulfill the consumer appetite.

2) The workforce in America is 9 to 5 attitude and that includes sick days, holidays, personal days, etc. In China you work or you don't eat and long illegal hours considered in the USA is the norm regardless of whatever AUDITs are performed on these facilities over in China.

3) The (toxic) materials needed to produce these goods are most likely banned in the USA and because we are a developed nation we care about safety first. In China life is cheap, literally. They don't give two hoots about what is toxic as long as the contract orders are fulfilled.

4) Pay in China is a joke vs USA. In the USA you want to work 9 to 5 with all the benefits and get paid well. But these days I see people want $15/hr pay min but yet do nothing even close to the $7.xx min wage they are given. LAzy yes but that's the way of life here where everyone feels entitlement to everything with very minimal effort.

5) Where are you going to source all these material supplies? China owns nearly all the vital materials needed to produce the goods. Why have these supplies shipped here from China rather than just made there where it's sourced?

6) The profit margins - this should be #1 priority for every single capitalistic business in the USA. Why make $100 profit margins per product when you can make $600? How do you think Apple have this much cash on hand? It's because they know cheap expense = bigger profits. Argue what you will that's how capitalism works. Simple business math. The lower the cost of something made the more money you make.

So as long as it's cheap over there in China there will never be any Apple products made in the USA. NEVER. The bean counters and fake Wall Street gambling scumbags will never ever let that happen.

Will not change a thing. China is turning into a large consumer economy and is much more concerned on protecting their economy from foreign companies (i.e. more concerned about protecting the large sales value in China then any manufacturing).

Exactly they are not stupid - why let some foreign company as big as Apple is come in and make money off their people. Lol - Chinese mentality same for the past 5000 years of history. Closed minded, greedy, selfish, and a terrible country to live in if you are poor, disabled, and or have health problems.

Great move from China
Time to shut apple down
These stupid Ameweekans aren't even able to release a skylake mBP !

WHy don't you just buy a Chinese made laptop? THey have plenty that support skylake.

Do you think the 100C came out before the first iPhone?.

Western style of business is completely opposite of eastern (Chinese) business practices.

In China you deal with back alley deals, under the table pay outs, bribes, offering potential clients tons of benefits even before you sign a contract - this is how it's done in China. Corruption is in your face in China while corruption in the west is all hush hush and politically correct. Look at the crash of 2008 and yet you have bank bailouts and tons of these crooks are not even publicly exposed as crooks. In China they are crooked business men and you know this before even going in to sign a deal with them.
