Cut the crap. First, how much debt they own has nothing to do with it. And second, the Chinese own a tiny fraction of US debt (around 10%). Americans own most of US debt (somewhere around 80%).
I always question these type tactics in order to manipulate the stock price.
Exactly they are not stupid - why let some foreign company as big as Apple is come in and make money off their people. Lol - Chinese mentality same for the past 5000 years of history. Closed minded, greedy, selfish, and a terrible country to live in if you are poor, disabled, and or have health problems.

WHy don't you just buy a Chinese made laptop? THey have plenty that support skylake.
It would be funny/ironic if Samsung is "funding/encouraging" this attack on Apple as payback for Apple winning big against Samsung in that patent lawsuit years ago. Even if it's not the case, I'm sure the Samsung executives are laughing at this turn of events against Apple.
MBPs are chinese made laptops amongst many others indeed.
But I still hoped in "apple design" and quality stuff
Most probably have to scrap that as well
You ask and answer your own question. The market (billions of dollars in profits) trumps over all those 'hassles'Why companies even bother with China is beyond me. Yes, it's a large market, but the hassles...
This case will be used to pull more money out of the Apple coffers by the government, which controls the courts.
Everything about China makes me sick. Their way of dealing with anything foreign is disgusting, communist scum. They will never topple the might USA (I'm not even American)
wow really? its not surprising the Chinese are ruling in favor of the Chinese... This is a joke.
China literally copies everything from everyone.
Only a little deluded. China holds almost all the USA's debt, they are already the biggest economy - not that anyone will admit to it yet. Funny how it's all gung ho and brilliant when yanks put themselves first but when other countries do it they are racist and evil?
Guess what, the world is fed up of the double standards that has gone on for 40 years. China nad India are just the first to start saying sod off.
Oh, the irony...China...
Chinese as in Chinese branded.
As someone mentioned its looking like its more of a political agenda. Are they high to make a decision like that? What on earth is wrong with China? In todays time you cannot make out difference between 2 phones unless you see the respective company logo. Seriously, often i have to stare hard to figure out what phone is that? what brand is that? they all look so similar.
The phones in the photo above has no similarities.
They are just after some easy Money, imo.
You are really naive,This is how China operates - don't kid yourself.
LOL we hold their debt - in what currency genius? No one is going to call it? China already has! They've been dumping US debt for the past year. The FED is doing everything they can to gobble it up. Can't let it hit the market - or interest rates go BOOM! <--- real reason why FED won't raise short end.
Apple stands to lose if China blocked it from their 1.34B strong market. Apple needs China more Thant China needs Apple. I know it hurts you like hell as an apple fan boy but deal with itApple needs to prove to China that if they want to play this way, Apple is willing and able to pull their manufacturing out of China.
This country is willing to do anything to help its own corporations to compete unhealthily against Apple and any other international corporations....
Even though CN is a huge market, but I think Apple should not invest too much to a point so that if a future withdrawal is necessary, it will not materially decrease Apple's global standing.
You are probably right to a certain point. But if apple does spin up the factories and assembly plants in brazil and india (the two I have read they are working on), they could move the one million Chinese jobs to one of the other locations. One million jobs is one tenth of one percent of the population of china, so maybe it doesn't mean a who lot. but I think Apple should consider it because of economic realities -- If they spend a ton of money in yuans to build the Apple products, but sell all their products in other countries then they have the added conversion volatility and cost of taking money from one country, exporting it, converting and then importing it to china. If china is basically not allowing Apple to sell in China, this places a financial burden on Apple. Given the cash reserve you are probably right in that Apple can certainly keep trying and bribing until they find a workable solution. But I think that at some point Apple needs to stand up to the bullying if they have any hopes of it stopping.
Do you think the 100C came out before the first iPhone?.
