The Apple multi-color logo is not even the order of actual rainbow colors via science or any flag! This is getting insane. Can't anyone google anything anymore? Green would not be at the top nor blue at the bottom in physics or any flag!
It’s in order if you view it as a loop; it’s just the start and end points aren’t what we’re used to. Put another logo directly above it and a ‘proper’ rainbow is formed.
Yes Jony Ive was designing around the rainbow for almost a decade before Steve Jobs returned and mono-fied the Apple logo. They didn’t actually know each other for decades though. Maybe only 14 years or so?

Possibly the best thing praise for Apple that I’ve read in years.
“Truly hideous”? He’s wrong, and so are you. There is a saying, perhaps you’ve heard it before: beauty is in the eye of the beholder. One hater’s hideous is another person’s awesome.
Or their current glories, including their values of inclusiveness, which seems to be so upsetting to a few MR forum posters and, for some reason, triggers their issues.

What I see is a lot of DayGlo plastic that, next week, will be in a landfill. Not my idea of beauty.
In actual use that rainbow stage arch looks so much better. The colors better match the logo colors when in use. The aerial photo definitely was not very flattering. In context, this looks good and I can now see why so much time needed to be invested in its creation and implementation. Thank you for posting these photos.So lady Gaga performed. And there were fireworks.
Oh and it looks like they were giving out these jackets? Or employees could purchase them?
It’s actually a structural element of the overall stage design and supports hundreds of pounds of lighting equipment. It’s definitely made of metal, and was designed to be used over and over again. But you still don’t have to like it... different strokes for different folks

How I yearn for the days when people followed Apple Rumors because they were fans, and not because they had to troll and bash everything Apple does. People used to offer criticism that was informed and interesting. It's a temporary rainbow motif for an event, ffs.

Yeah, everyone knew that from the beginning. No one thought it was a big deal--artistic license. And there was no Google back then.
Not sure if just timing, or coincidence, but that light is forming a perfect apple logo leaf.
If that happened, I would boycott Apple for good.

I'm really curious about this myself.

Gaga’s concert looked amazing, the attendees seemed to love it.

I love that rainbow. It reminds me of childhood in the 80s, and my first Mac, a Mac Classic II, which has been in my mom’s basement since the late 90s when we replaced it with another Mac. It still boots! Of course, then I have a 2009 iMac that is basically useless. My how things do change. The rainbow is meaningful, though. Anyone blubbering about it is either not old enough for it to matter to them, or just plain doesn’t ‘get it’.
