The Apple multi-color logo is not even the order of actual rainbow colors via science or any flag! This is getting insane. Can't anyone google anything anymore? Green would not be at the top nor blue at the bottom in physics or any flag! :D

It’s in order if you view it as a loop; it’s just the start and end points aren’t what we’re used to. Put another logo directly above it and a ‘proper’ rainbow is formed.

I was talking about Jony Ive, who assuredly designed all of this.

Yes Jony Ive was designing around the rainbow for almost a decade before Steve Jobs returned and mono-fied the Apple logo. They didn’t actually know each other for decades though. Maybe only 14 years or so?

A bigger tribute to Jobs (a big Cray Supercomputer fan) would have been to buy Cray and get in of the "fastest supercomputer project".

Apple dropped out of the all-cash bidding for Cray and let H.P. get a big win.

You can’t deny that he’s right, though.
“Truly hideous”? He’s wrong, and so are you. There is a saying, perhaps you’ve heard it before: beauty is in the eye of the beholder. One hater’s hideous is another person’s awesome.

They’re celebrating their past glories.
Or their current glories, including their values of inclusiveness, which seems to be so upsetting to a few MR forum posters and, for some reason, triggers their issues.

Possibly the best thing praise for Apple that I’ve read in years.
I guess you didn’t read anything about iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods or many different Macs. Expand your reading list beyond the Stair Review Monthly

So lady Gaga performed. And there were fireworks.

Oh and it looks like they were giving out these jackets? Or employees could purchase them?

In actual use that rainbow stage arch looks so much better. The colors better match the logo colors when in use. The aerial photo definitely was not very flattering. In context, this looks good and I can now see why so much time needed to be invested in its creation and implementation. Thank you for posting these photos.

What I see is a lot of DayGlo plastic that, next week, will be in a landfill. Not my idea of beauty.
It’s actually a structural element of the overall stage design and supports hundreds of pounds of lighting equipment. It’s definitely made of metal, and was designed to be used over and over again. But you still don’t have to like it... different strokes for different folks :) There are some pics above; it doesn’t seem hideous to me, but opinions will differ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sort of ironic to remove all PRSI comments when Tim Cook is clearly making a PRSI statement with all this rainbow stuff.

No, no he's not.
[doublepost=1558383718][/doublepost]I'm thinking the stairs are "juuussst a bit outside" good design.

Always stop way before you think of every possible use.

Yeah, everyone knew that from the beginning. No one thought it was a big deal--artistic license. And there was no Google back then.

Not sure if just timing, or coincidence, but that light is forming a perfect apple logo leaf.

Love it! So fun to see the old rainbowish logo referenced in this way.

I like this old Jean-Louis Gassée quote:
“One of the deep mysteries to me is our logo, the symbol of lust and knowledge, bitten into, all crossed with the colors of the rainbow in the wrong order. You couldn’t dream a more appropriate logo: lust, knowledge, hope and anarchy.”

I love that rainbow. It reminds me of childhood in the 80s, and my first Mac, a Mac Classic II, which has been in my mom’s basement since the late 90s when we replaced it with another Mac. It still boots! Of course, then I have a 2009 iMac that is basically useless. My how things do change. The rainbow is meaningful, though. Anyone blubbering about it is either not old enough for it to matter to them, or just plain doesn’t ‘get it’.
