Apple is just missing its own deadlines and that is irritating no matter what company it is.
Sadly, this is a typical trajectory of a business leviathan. Once they become ultra successful, quality, support, and all that takes a nosedive.

The same thing happened to my girlfriend in Utah. She tried it about 20 times and then the toggle disappeared.
So no Apple Cash still today? Another awesome rollout by Apple along with the buggy software updates. Who is in charge of QC these days.

It seems Apple is throwing in the towel, at least momentarily. Oh well, I'll give it a shot when it returns, but this weekend (and Monday) is not going well for Apple.

Well, I have Apple Pay set up; just waiting for my girlfriend to succeed at it.

It became available for me today, but when I went into settings to set it up, I’m getting the error: “Apple Pay cash services are not available”.

Looks like it’s working on my iPad but didn’t work on my iPhone X, I toggled it off and now it’s totally disappeared from my phone lol

I wish we could know approximately how many were successful in enrolling.
We'll never know. Plus there are people like me who deliberately turned it off.

Curiously when you turn APC off, the toggle switch completely disappears. There is no obvious way to regain access to APC again. Perhaps if 2-factor authentication is turned on it will show up again.

I confirmed I have two-factor turned on and added my debit card to my wallet. I still do not see any hint of Apple Pay Cash.
Atlanta.
I have two-factor on and already had a debit card in Apple Pay. The toggle was there for me ~30 minutes after this article went up, it failed three or four times, then the toggle disappeared.

So do you really need two factor authentication on to use it?
According to this support document, you do.

Here's what you need
To send and receive money with Apple Pay, you must be at least 18 years old and you must live in the United States.2 You also need these things:

Then you need to agree to the Terms and Conditions. You can do this the first time that you try to send or receive money. You might also be asked to verify your identity.

After you accept the Terms and Conditions, you can send and receive money with friends and family quickly, easily, and securely right from your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch.

folks. screw apple pay.

did they fix the other issues? perfornance on older devices? battery drain?

All lies. I downloaded the update and installed. Still nothing. Did a hard reset, Nothing again. -NorCal

Right, mine asked for first/last name and last 4 of social first, and then asked me for my full social security number, and THEN to upload photos of my photo ID which was verified (probably automatically?) in a few seconds. It will likely need different information for different people depending on how they verify identities, I suspect it was having trouble matching me against their database.

Also of note, none of this was required to start using AP Cash, it was an extra button on the AP Cash card info section that I chose to fill out (Something along the lines of "Verify Your Identity") - it probably lifts some sort of daily limit like other companies do.

Apple is asking for SSI numbers? Not getting mine. Only companies needing my SSI is my job, bank, and IRS.

Yeah how do I get the toggle back?
You wait until Apple re-enables it server-side.

They turned it on, and some people got in. Then something happened and they disabled it. They'll have to fix their little problem and turn it back on again.
