According to this article by CNET, Apple Pay Cash will be turned on next week. There have been a lucky few (just one lucky person confirmed according to CNET, but we have seen more here), who managed to get through, but Apple just might hold back.

FWIW - I am one of those who is disappointed in all this, not because I have to wait until next week, but because I know people who managed to get through and I didn't, however, realistically, people need to be on Apple Pay Cash to be able to both send and receive money, so if you don't know anyone who is on it, there is no point in having it until it is released. And until then, there is always Square Cash and Venmo (although I really do not like Venmo).

So, if we need to wait another week, shame Apple had to go that route, but oh well, nothing we can do, and no amount of complaining is going to change that.

Just my 2C.

I can send money to anyone with my bank app, they don't need to have the same bank. It works whether they use iOS or android or any email account for that matter. Unlike apple pay which needs to be apple user on receiving end.

Ok then clearly this isn't going to be useful for you.

Mine is working

There is also Square Cash which can send to any other Square Cash user (Android\iOS), or PayPal. Not all banks have easy to use cash apps, so for those who don't, these other alternatives are nice to have. APC is certainly not first in the market, and won't be for everyone, but integrated right into Messages with TID\FID to authenticate makes it easy and natural to use.

Whoa, just went into my Wallet settings and the Apple Pay Cash toggle was there and enabled on my phone. Just had to finish setting it up.

We survived just fine without iPhones and macs and everything else Apple has ever made too. That’s a really stupid standard to create for an Apple product or service.
Silly comparison. If you pay for something and don’t get it on time, you’re within your right to complain.

Apple Pay Cash is a value added feature that no one is paying a dime for.

Vague ultimatums about not being ok if it doesn’t work by a certain date are ludicrous and entitlement ridden.

Log out of iCloud then log back in and it should work just did it and it let me set up instantly

I can confirm, that at least for me, this did not work, and now I have to set up a bunch of stuff over again

Edit: ok, it actually DID end up working for me, either coincidence or there was a lag, but worth a shot! Thanks!

All I could get was that it was unavailable so I turned it off and it has completely disappeared from my phone and will not come back. When will this article be updated?

Article has been up basically all day. I doubt MR will make any updates.

Maybe when someone who cares enough uses the proper method to inquire of the site/editors.

Ha, same thing happened to me... Apple, you're killing me/us!

Apple Pay Cash is not available to me in California. From what I have been able to determine, it is also not available to a lot of others. Epic fail Timmy.

Are you sure this works? I thought of this too but, you have to set up your cards again and deal with a few other small details. I don’t want to go through it if it leads to a dead end

I already did a hard reset multiple times. I had the toggle in settings but it wouldn’t activate. Then when I turned off the toggle, the toggle completely disappeared and wont come back. The only thing I haven’t tried was signing out of iCloud and sign back in. I’d like to know if someone in the same situation as me had luck with the iCloud route
