Apple Pay Cash Now Available for iOS 11.2 Users

why hasn't apple put out an official word on this?

The update clearly said Apple PAy Cash was launching and its obvious they messed it up, so instead of making everyone guess why not come out and issue a statement?

I think the iCloud server excuse is bogus. I’m able to log into iCloud and access everything without a problem.. I think something went wrong with the rollout. I had the toggle but couldn’t activate. Then after shutting off the Apple APC toggle the feature completely disappeared. I still have it in my iMessage tray but, no sign of it in settings.. I’m sure they’ll straighten it out soon. Anyone try to sign out of iCloud and sign back in to see if that triggers anything?

I am guessing we will read something about this tomorrow morning. I agree with your sentiment.

Is it possible to transfer money received from the Apple Pay Cash card to your checking account etc., similar to PayPal transfer?

Edited to add: Found the answer and yes, you can.

You’ll be alright if you don’t get it by the end of the week. You’ll be fine if you never get it. You’ve never had it. You’ve spent your entire life proving you can live without it.
You don't understand...

WE NEED IT NAAAOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!1

First no toggle. Did a restart of the phone, had toggle, but it wouldn’t activate. Turned off toggle, now no more toggle.

We survived just fine without iPhones and macs and everything else Apple has ever made too. That’s a really stupid standard to create for an Apple product or service.

There it is.
One is categorically not allowed to complain when you get a raw deal from a company whose product is otherwise first rate.
How Soup Nazi-esque.
You've taken complaint to a whole new level.

Apparently not, because NOBODY CAN ****ING TURN IT ON!!!!
It's 2017. You should expect better.
Yup. This is some Soup Nazi level customer experience, Apple.
Can anyone definitively say that this is working at all?
Remember when people didn't scoff at Steve for saying "it just works"?
Yes, there is a reason. It's a poor customer experience. If they weren't ready with the back-end infrastructure, then they shouldn't have enabled the toggle. ...snip
snip...And I've never had any trouble getting a software update when it was released. Apple knows how to properly queue those and to stage them before hand on enough servers to keep the process moving. Apparently the Apple Pay folks didn't get the memo.
If this is a CDN propagation issue, Apple should have known that and waited a day for the CDNs to stabilize before turning on the switch in Settings > Wallet. They demonstrated all weekend long that they could separately enable that. They should have waited until it would actually ****ing work.
I have visited this site under those circumstances and what I often see is people complaining of extremely long download times. That's not even close to the same thing as a universal up-front failure for nearly everyone. And besides, if that was going to be an issue, they could have just slowly rolled out enabling the switch in Settings > Wallet. That would have - again - been a far better customer experience.
There is a another 20 complaints/snarky responses more.

Give it a rest.
Anyone reading this thread can pretty much surmise how you feel starting from your first complaint on page 3.
More complaints/snarky remarks is not gonna move your point along any further than your last 29 (and counting) post.

Been able to activate it on Beta releases for several weeks now, but don't know anyone to use it with.

For those who are asking, APC allows you to send\receive cash between iOS 11.2 users via Messages app, regardless of what bank the other person uses. If you have a credit balance on your APC card, you can pay from that, else from any card in your Apple Pay wallet. If you have a debit card in your wallet, or if you use APC, there is no charge. If you send cash using a credit card, there is a fee.

All $ received goes on your APC, and you can transfer it to your bank via the debit card in your wallet.

It would be nice if the Mac Messages app allowed APC as well, perhaps like Apple Pay with using TouchID (or FaceID) on iPhone to authenticate the transaction... maybe on the 10.14 feature list??? Along with App Store for Mac Messages... one can hope!

If you want to send/receive money from someone who doesn’t have the same bank as you is why.

I can send money to anyone with my bank app, they don't need to have the same bank. It works whether they use iOS or android or any email account for that matter. Unlike apple pay which needs to be apple user on receiving end.

For those of you that are missing the toggle and can't activate apple pay cash..sign in and out of iCloud on your device. That should repopulate the toggle.
