You shouldn't have to. Mine popped up randomly while I was texting.

For those who do see Apple Pay Cash, but can’t activate...DO NOT toggle it off. It disappears completely.
Support suggests the toggle will eventually return later in the week or you can log out of iCloud and back in to try and force it to reappear.

Apple pay cash "randomly" popped out of no where just now. I have not rebooted my iphone, and or logged out of my icloud account. I simply picked up my phone, unlocked it and a message popped up stating it was now available.

I asked my wife to send me a small amount of money to try it out. Initially it said it was unavailable and gave an error message. I then tried it a few minutes later and I was able to accept the payment.

Yeah I thought it was just me, it just randomly opened on my X when I opened iMessage, also the 8 Plus. I updated the 8 Plus this morning.

No one is forcing anything.

You literally said you signed out of iCloud and signed back in just in order to get APC working for you. So yes, you and others tried to force it when all you had to do was wait.

But when you have to go through this multiple times in such a short amount of time in order to get everything working as it is supposed to, something is wrong.

I think the *something* there may be whatever you are doing to your devices, otherwise it's hard to see why one would have to repeatedly sync their iCloud photo library "multiple times in such a short amount of time", unless you are wiping your device every time a 0.0.X update comes out.

Mine came back in a matter of hours.

JUST WAIT, people.

Tried all day and always get "Could Not Set Up Apple Pay Cash: Apple Pay services are currently unavailable. Please try again later." Not worth it to me to sign in and out of iCloud. I figure it'll work...eventually.

Same here.

I got it on my iPhone courtesy of the public beta program... but nothing on my wife's phone... not even the option to enable it under Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay. Apple has really screwed the pooch with the details on both iOS and macOS this time around. I'm guessing 'It just works' is no longer the company's catch phrase.

I have it courtesy of the beta too but my gf had it appear on her iPad, but not phone yet.

I think it’s just a phased roll-out, combined with some choking servers when actually attempting to activate.

I can send money to anyone with my bank app, they don't need to have the same bank. It works whether they use iOS or android or any email account for that matter. Unlike apple pay which needs to be apple user on receiving end.
I bet your bank charges a fee for it though. For Apple users it doesn’t bother us it’s just between iOS devices. The integration with the software is what is so nice about it.

I am up and running. Opened up wallet and the Apple Pay card was there. Just had to follow a few prompts and I’m good to go. Switch still MIA in settings! Strange.

After the toggle showing up but services unavailable this morning, to the toggle disappearing this afternoon, it showed up in wallet settings this evening, already toggled on but (obviously) not set up. Set it up and did a test with a friend, works great! Verified my identity too. Showed up on my X and friend’s iPad Pro, not showing up on his 8 or my wife’s 7.

Wow...you're so quick to blame the user. My point is--no one knows for sure that "just waiting" would solve anything. Apple never said, "Just wait and it will show up." They said, "It's part of this 11.2 update you're about to download" on Saturday. You assume that since you just waited and it showed up, that it would be the same for everyone. I had it on my X, but it wouldn't let me go through the process of verifying my ID. Had Apple offered any communication on what to expect, it'd be a different story. But when there's no communication on a) why a feature that was stated to be included in the update wasn't there and b) what to expect when the feature goes live, people are left to their own devices as to how to get the feature to work properly.

I had to sign out of and back into iCloud multiple times just to get Personal Hotspot working again. There's a well-documented thread on this.

Same thing for me! I am now up and running. Message popped up on my phone a few hours ago, set it up and I’m ready to roll! I’m in Tulsa.

Yup this worked for me. And a few minutes later the switch showed up in settings.
