Thats no real sign. There are more companys with card readers advertising Apple Pay compatibility.
On https://www.izettle.com/de/kartenlesegerate I did see it nearly a quarter year ago, as I was the first time on their page.
Same with https://sumup.de/
Actually, we don't know how they mean it. As today you can already pay at a lot of places with Apple Pay.
Yes, this page exists since at least November 2017, but I remember reading it before the Keynote 2017. It's probably just saying that it's possible to pay with Apple Pay in Germany, since it's an Acquirer, not a bank.
Doubt we will ever know what happened. Would be the second time they pulled it ‘last minute’. And that for supposedly three countries? Makes no sense to be honest. Austria and the Netherlands are not dependent on a German release. We’ve been trolled is more likely. Except for that Concardis message that is confusing. I just don’t believe something like this would be pulled last minute...

Yeah I know about iZettle and SumUp. They advertise with Apple Pay support but I have always brushed this of as iZettle does business in other countries and SumUp, I dont know if they are in other countries but they are propably using some white-label terminal which has support for it, then why dont advertise it.

I think they were two different person because they had a very different style of writing. I think n4p84 was a copy cat and sunny just wanted to troll around a bit. And mainly the whole German tech press jumped on it ... so ridiculous.
I think so too. N4p84 just copied whatever sunny said. At least the Dutch tech press totally ignored it this time.
N4p84's account was a new one to troll, sunny was registered since 2013... Looking at his other posts it looks like he really has knowledge/other people in the industry. Who knows. Might be a troll but I dont want to judge too quickly. If in two weeks there is a "silent" Apple Pay now in Germany post on the homepage like it was for other countries.
Well thats exactly what I kept saying over and over again. Its very unhappy that Apple didnt announce anything tonight. Was looking forward to Apple Pay as well but they keep disappointing us.
