I´m not sure what is really going on. If the German Twitter-User I´ve quoted yesterday really has AP on his device but it does not work yet. @sunny2k1 said it takes time to role out and he said in addition it would be faster than he thought. @MLVC has AP on his device with iOS 11.3 installed.
[doublepost=1517568835][/doublepost]Forget the Brazilian Twitter-User guys.

Guys DM from sunny 2k1 via twitter.

Nein.

I don’t believe him, he confirmed Apple Pay two hours before conference call. Maybe he is working with AP but I think he just speculated.

I´m really ... you know what. So here you have it. If @sunny2k1 could not foresee this? Not my problem!
[doublepost=1517573835][/doublepost]Last answer from sunny2k1: Sorry, konnte halt nicht früher. hatte auch nur drei Stunden schlaf, weil ich Dienst bis 2:00am ET hatte

Well guys I believe him and we should not bash him here on macrumors for it.

The thing about the TV app makes sense and that the devices really must call home. The rollout for TV App in Germany was kinda the same way, my iPhone took forever to switch to the TV App (2 days after announcement), the iPad got it first for me.

Let us wait and see. If he is right, then AP will pop up, on our devices.

It would be interesting if this is true for all the AP countries or not.

But why would it show up?
There‘s no German Apple Pay website up yet and Tim Cook would have mentioned the launch, no?
Why would they announce it for Brazil only if they were to launch it just now for Germany?

Well whether it pops up or not, if it doesn’t get announced it’s still useless. It just gives me error messages now, and I’m not even sure it pops up because I had my region set to US earlier or because there’s actually something happening.
[doublepost=1517574428][/doublepost]There's this Dutch page, it seems to come and go in the last coupe of months. It's up now. https://support.apple.com/nl-nl/HT205583

yeah it makes no sense to launch it in other countries but Brazil right now, it would have been announced yesterday if that were the case. I mean, it's not like we're talking San Marino or Andorra, but countries with a high(er) profile like Germany, Austria and the Netherlands.

Maybe in Brazil are a lot less iPhones :D

Its strange isnt it, reasons I could pull out of my a**:

- German banks had an NDA with Apple until like 20th Feb. Earnings call was just a little bit too soon
- Sparka & Volksbank just want to push their solutions a couple days more But: Volksbank's TV ads about their mobile payment solution (QR style) stopped for me a couple weeks ago or I just dont see them anymore. The one with the fish seller at a market
[doublepost=1517575275][/doublepost]And btw, there is a german site

The thing is though, and I know this topic is about Germany, but all rumors point(ed) to a release in at least Germany and the Netherlands (some rumors include Austria, some others Poland), so none of the reasons are "national reasons". Either the rumors are wrong, or Apple wants a launch in multiple countries at once, or there are issues in all rumored countries. Apple Pay negotiations are with each bank separately, so that would imply there are a lot of issues still need sorting out. I don't think the announcement depends on something like an earnings call, we've seen Apple Pay being launched without really any announcement, right? So it could happen any day (well, not right now or it would have been mentioned yesterday, but soon) or it could take months.

That's the same date as for the Dutch site, also 29.01.2018

There is also a Austria site. I looked to the turkish site and on this site the article is written in English and not in turkish. But the NL site is in dutch, german and austria in german. That means the article is not something like a placeholder

The page has been around like forever. Of course germany is a target market so Apple is prepared but its no sign of a rollout coming any time soon.
Also: The german translation is already used for switzerland, so they could just use the same text with different countrycode.
