If Apple bring out a 4" iPhone, I may try Apple Pay. Otherwise, not. Although, I think the iPad Air 2 supports it.
RBS Group cards working with region trick. Just added my Royal Bank of Scotland debit. Really simple process!
I managed to register my RBS and Nationwide debit cards. Didn't work with my RBS credit card though.
Yes, Apple Pay uses the standard contactless payment system here in the UK. That's why the limit in most places is £20.They would support Apple Pay without an upgrade so hopefully (even though I have no idea if where you work is somewhere i shop) the latter.
Yeah, pretty much this. Terminals which have explicit Apple Pay support will (likely) support theoretically unlimited transaction limits. Those which don't have the software update will support Apple Pay, but treat it as just another contactless payment, as if it didn't have authentication.I don't think you guys are reading this right:
Vice president of Apple Pay Jennifer Bailey said the system will be able to used to not only buy coffee and other low-price transactions, but full shopping baskets’ worth of goods following merchants’ decisions to upgrade their contactless terminals’ software to accept transactions with a greater value than £20, rising to £30 in September.
The iPad Air 2 has the Secure Element for TouchID, but not the NFC radios, so you can't take your iPad Air 2 out shopping and try to pay with it. It just means that in apps which sell physical goods, you can choose Apple Pay instead of your credit/debit card, and you don't need to type in your address or anything. If Apple bring out a 4" iPhone, I may try Apple Pay. Otherwise, not. Although, I think the iPad Air 2 supports it.
M&S. They haven't mentioned the terminal upgrades but they have definitely been upgraded as the display looks different now.May I ask where you work?
Seriously??Hopefully MacBooks will have support for TouchID and NFC so we can use them to Apple Pay. I can easily imagine a scenario where I'm out, forgot my wallet, and my phone is back on the desk, watch fully discharged but I have my 15" MacBook Pro in the bag. It would be super convenient if I could pull out the laptop and pay for my burger and fries.
Seems my Santander debit card works, as do my Nationwide debit and credit cards.
It looks like the Santander 123 card is specifically excluded from Apple Pay support, as I get a message saying the card is unsupported. RBS and First Direct debit cards are currently giving me errors.
Change region on your watch companion app to add cards to your watch! just added my Natwest card to my watch via my iPhone 5s (which can't use AP for itself)Using the region switch I could add my NatWesr card but not Amex card. Even got a text from NatWest saying my card had been activated and my card is still in my wallet when I switched my iPhone region back to the UK. I don't seem to be able to add cards from the UK region and no sign of Apple pay on my Apple Watch either.
Seriously??
That would be extremely disappointing if true and I reckon is just due to it not being fully live yet. I have had the same issue with an RBS credit card.
As a fellow Aussie, this made me laugh and cry at the same time...Won't be in Australia till iPhone 9 most likely. Cause we are a 3rd world country an all. Excuse me now while i ride my kangaroo to work.
