I got my Chase Freedom card to work but my Target card does not... It might have to do with the fact that it doesn't have an expiration date. Which is disappointing because of all the cards I have THAT is the one I hate carrying cause it only works at 1 place.

If you are using a debit card, please post the Bank that issued the card also. I'm interested to see which ones work & don't work

For me, these have worked so far:

Chase debt card
Freedom Chase
AmEx BlueCash
Citi Simplicity

Ones that haven't:
AmEx JetBlue

Chase Debit card.

Just used at Walgreens. Reader picked up the card on the phone, phone asked for fingerprint, then had to put pin number into the machine and go through the litany of questions about approving the purchase.

The only observable difference was not having to swipe my card.

I'm not asked at setup for the card whether to use it as debit or credit or I would choose credit.

Anybody else also have to put pin and whatnot into the reader?

Oh bummer. I never use my debit card as a debit card. I always swipe as a credit card.

Was your TD card a Credit or Debit ?

I've been looking for another reason to jump ship. TD's hours are great & all but their customer service is just terrible. Opening up a Wells Fargo account by the end of the week

Not in the list of current banks or even the UPCOMING ones...

If I am not mistaken when swiping a debit credit card at Walgreens it ask on the credit card terminal if you want to use Debit or Credit.

Can anyone verify if this is still true with Apple Pay? Surely it still does this! I don't know if they (the bank) get different fees based on credit or debit.

One of our new 'healthy' junk food machines had the nfc logo, so for grins I tried it. Kind of awkward because I have a wallet case, have to open the flap to get to the Touch ID sensor. But it beeped, I selected the food, and I got my chips I'm easily amused :)
WF Visa

Is your Wells Fargo Visa a debit or credit ?

So every dumb youtube video on how to use it shows a person with their iPhone already unlocked and in passbook with the card showing before they tap it. Does this need to happen or can I just tap my un-unlocked iPhone to the NFC terminal?

Edit: Nevermind, "You iPhone can be asleep when the transaction starts. It will wake up when it’s close to the POS."

Yup. The vending machine is some small company with after-market credit card readers installed, with NFC chip support.

As far as card selection, you just click the one you want to use which brings it into "full view" with a list of recent transactions. Then just hold it up to the NFC symbol and you'll see the TouchID Fingerprint option appear out of the blue. You then put your thumb to it and boom...the credit card reader clicked, read "**** TOKEN SENDING..", then said "Transaction approved. Please select option." Then selected the Diet Coke, and once the machine processed the transaction, it showed up almost immediately on my iPhone under "recent transactions" below the card.

This was on a Blue Cash Amex. I am not sure if all cards support recent transactions summary.

well....this explains the vending machine process...

Yeah, I wasn't asked at the machine or at the time of adding the card to Apple Pay. If it's the case that my credit card would be easier to be the default, that would be fine, I guess. I just usually use cash/debit for everything. I wonder if there will be some sort of change at the bank level that no longer requires the dumb 4 digit pin in light of the fact that we put in our fingerprint, which is wayyyy more secure than a dumb 4 digit pin.

Mine don't work either. None of my debit or credit cards from Target or USAA work. I would have thought a debit card from any bank would work since it is a debit card, but nope.

Great job Apple! /s

Yeah, it's Apple's fault your banks didn't sign up for Apple Pay.

I don't even have my iphone 6+ yet and already I'm receiving e-mails from my banks that they support Apple Pay.

Exact same experience.

When I first got the update, and started Passbook, adding a credit card gave the option of using the card currently associated with iTunes but that option disappeared after I added a Chase credit card. Does anyone know how to get it back?

Also for any US Bank customers, we are they advertising Apple Pay on their website but when I try to add my debit card it states it is not supported?

I got my chase, capital one activated very easily but bank of america is a bit more complicated (it needs to be activated by calling an 800-number)

Not here. Scanned my card, typed in the security code and it was activated. Some other BoA customers are experiencing what you are as well. I wonder why.

Does anyone know if Apple bills you for the transaction or part of the transaction, or does it only show up on your credit card statement? Do they pay a % to Apple per transaction?

I added my amex blue cash, emailed me a code to verify card. With Capital one I have to verify with their capital one app or call them. With Bank of America I have to call them to verify card. Discover not supported.
