thanks all - unable to locate it on itunes

i want that song :)
Whoa. Not on iTunes. I just checked. So freaking ironic.
And I want it so ****ing bad. (yeah, I know it should be badly....)

Such Great Heights clip inspired

Wow, this ad was definitely inspired by the clip Postal Service made for their song Such Great Heights.

Ok, I know the context (processor shop) almost imposed similarities, but consider when the characters exchange the wafer (~ 3:30) and you see clearly the inspiration. Even the female characters look alike.

The song is great too, so that makes me happy ;-)

Can't save the file

Am I the only one who's QuickTime Pro/Safari crashes (or rather, gets a non-stop spinning beachball) when trying to save the file?

I just updated/rebooted (as required), is QT 7.0.4 bugged? :(

As a side note - it's so interesting to hear Moby in pop-culture 2006. I got in to him when he was under the name Voodoo Child waaaaaay back in the late 1980s/early 1990s. His early stuff is utterly amazing, and anyone who liked "God Moving Over the Face of the Waters" and with an ear for techno/trance should check out his early 1990s albums. Extraordinarily innovative and groundbreaking for the day, and IMHO still has sticking power today.

Dunno - works fine under QT 7.0.3 and Firefox. :D

"…imagine the possibilities."

I´m afraid most people can´t! Now that they´ve made the announcement, with class, give us a follow-up with focus on the world of OSX – show people the possibilities!

I like the ad BUT I'm not sure they're going to do much for the average consumer.

Do average consumers understand Intel without the words 'Centrino', 'Pentium IV' or that darned 'dadada dum' chime? Will it mean much to them? They've been told for years that all the fun things they can do on their PCs happen because of Intel - I'm not sure that they're going to think that they're are dull as they believe (work ones, sure!)

Does it show them any of the fun things? Nope... just what to an uneducated eye like a computer monitor. Let's hope it's the first of several...

I'm surprised they are having a TV ad just to clarify this transition, when they haven't had recent ads for, well, selling Macs :)

Maybe more of the latter is on the way.

There is so much ignorance out there. Vast numbers of people have no clue that there is ANY choice for everyday, non-techie people other than Windows.

I had that problem earlier with QT 7.0.3 and FireFox. Downloaded updates. Will see if things don't work.

EDIT....

No more crashes for me with update. :)

Excelent news - finally, a non-iPod ad from Apple - they should have been doing this a long time ago. The last Mac ad I can remember was that lame one for the PowerMac G5. Take advantage of the hype Apple and increase that marketshare! :)

well i guess its a good thing you see it as inspirational. I have to this this is one of the few times you see apple flat out copy something, the setting, the slow motion filmography even the robotic arm.

Still like the commercial, just lost a little respect for Chiat/Day or whoever makes Apple ads these days.

on another note.. go kiefer.. yah 24 !

I think they're going for "what in the world was THAT all about?" which might get people to pay a little more attention to the next ad.

Apple and Chiat-Day actually caught a lot of flak for their Eminem iPod ad which is also a copy of an old Lugs ad.

very good commercial

very good song to - i've been listening to moby for years

mostly the reason i dont use ITMS much - they dont carry alot of international dance / trance / etc... songs

shame - some of the stuff is very good

anyways - wonder if wel actually see this on tv - just cause they make a commercial, doesnt nesscerally mean theill use it.

hope so - its making a strong pitch - itll probably sway a few in the least.

Gotta toss up a negative on this ad.

Dull little boxes doing dull little tasks? Really? Um, lets see, nearly every feature film for the last 10 years has been made on intel chips, and nearly every single game over the last 10 years have been developed using intel chips.

I mean, Apple should be excited to be using intel, but dont knock others for using them before. They were BETTER all along! Apple has FINALLY caught up. Talk about spin. I think the ad is rude and condescending for a "oops, all this bullcrap about megahertz myth we've been feeding you for 8 years, forget about that. We were wrong, sorry" ad.
