Well if Apple is introducing a Movie Store, I'd hope that they have enough bandwidth to host their own introduction event... ;)

Well they did buy that huge data center a while back. What was it called again? A "tier 4" something or another.

They are shipped black wrapped, and the manager of the store has to authorize their being opened. So, generally, it's hard to get a leak that way.

Just paid six bucks to watch or hear something

I just got off a plane in Atlanta waiting for my connection so I paid the $6 to get wireless internet on my laptop just so I can see what the announcements are. Steve better make it worth my while!

It isn't working becuase the freaking event hasn't started yet. Wow....

In the past when I've seen these live they had music playing on the stream until it started... I've never seen this 404 issue before. I hope it works.

Can't imagine it would, since it's self-refreshing etc. Not totally sure, though. Why not try it now to see?
I kinda can't because if we have our phones on during class, we get the phone taken away.

There's also a piranha tank in each of those back rooms, and the fishies just love to snack on moles.

dude take a look at the main page on macrumors - it would have been pretty easy to find out that it starts at 1 eastern

(whatever east time is, is that something in China? or Hoxton)

Still, would it not be easy to see if the boxes were, uh, iMac sized, iPod sized, or Nano sized???

I am just amazed things stay secret so well....

i don't think it will be live...
their servers will not be able to handle the load..

They used to do all the apple events live broadcast. The wwdc keynotes and the itunes ones.

Oh, I see. Bummer. :( Try hiding it under the desk. Or better still, say you have to go to the restroom. That was always my excuse for any urgent business during a lesson.

How is that ?

I just sold my PowerBook and I'm temporarily on an IBM ThinkPad T42. Untill I get my new 20" iMac (this Saturday) ;)

To be honest. That ThinkPad has an amazing build quality compared to my TiBook. It doesn't feel like it's going to break all the time.
